I want to use a blu-ray player I have, to play cds using it as a transport.

Unfortunately it does not have SPDIF out, only coaxial.

My WiiM only has a SPDIF input.

Are the coaxial to SPDIF adapters any good? Can I get a non-powered one and is there a recommended brand or adapter.

As mentioned looks like DPM is between the white and grey, hence the moisture/mould.

Probably would have not painted below the DPM, but not a major issue, often the paint will flake off as moisture rises through.

Is the slab insulated or have a membrane or does moisture seep up through that as well?

Best bet will probably be a dehumidifier/heater, especially if you’re keeping tools/bikes rust worthy things in there. This will also reduce/eliminate mould.

Also a fan of bell/tipi style tents. Our tentipi has been great over the years.

After my great carport to garage conversion (still in progress) is finished, I will move onto insulating under the floors.

I will be following the https://www.ecologicalbuildingsystems.com/ guide for suspended floors. I’ve ordered the not inconsiderable insulation/tapes/membranes from them also.

I’ll be taking up the floorboards, cleaning all the debris they left from the 1960’s and then insulating and reinstalling the boards in two rooms.

My question is, would I be crazy to plain the boards (they are slightly cupped) while they are up? Rather than sand them in place afterwards (dust!) They are painted, which is wearing off after dogs/kids/adults.

The boards will need a-bit of tlc, as I’ll need to cut the tongue off when removing them. Then OSMO etc

You’d be surprised how quickly a native hedge will grow. Will have missed the boat for bare root this year. But I’d go mixed native: Holly, hornbeam, beech purple/green, hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel, field maple, Dog Rose, Wild privet. All year interest mix of evergreen, deciduous and wildlife friendly.

I had some everedge metal stuff at our previous house, which stood up well and was easy to install. Gave a clear defined look to the borders.

Grabbed a few for kids & me. Assorted colours.
