Nope. The ones I got look like they're made for a motorbike or something. Had to wrap the middle section round the rack twice so it wasn't too slack. Going to attempt to do it properly at some point, and find some way of attaching them directly to the rack - not quite sure how I'm going to do it yet but I'll find a way.

Re: Elephant Bike chat - I think spares are also available through Cycle Of Good who are the charity that arranges all the refurbs of the ex-RM bikes.
I've had my Elephant Bike for the best part of a year now, and it's my daily - rock solid, easy to ride, plenty of useable cargo space. Bought an reclaimed set of red Royal Mail pannier bags to go with it as well :) -

I've got a little Hiplok Z-Lock thing that is small enough to shove in the side of my handlebar pack, and although it's basically a heavy duty cable tie with a combination lock on it, it's enough just to make that extra couple of minutes of inconvenience to someone who would be otherwise be able to just walk off with the bike.
I wouldn't trust it if the bike was out of sight for more than a few minutes - but for locking up outside the coffee shop where I can still see it, it's better than nothing. -

I wonder how much of a difference it makes to the athletes to have a mostly silent empty stadium rather than a capacity crowd cheering you on in the events?
I just finished reading Victoria Pendleton's book, and she made a lot of references to hearing the crowd during the track events, both positively and negatively IIRC. -

Yeah, that did factor in a bit. But I managed to get a free delivery code which saved me £60 and made the whole thing slightly more manageable and more realistically priced, not sure I would have gone for it otherwise.
Thanks others for the advice too - will start looking into things, and saving some cash to do it properly if I can.

My cabinet from Krud that I've been waiting on arrived a couple of days ago - and I love it. Super solid and loads of room to build the collection now. Next step is upgrading the player itself - it's one of those basic USB jobbies which has done us really well until now, but I'm starting to really notice the limitations of the built-in speakers and feel like I want something a bit more 'proper'.
On that note - is there any good recommended resources to start with for someone who has no idea where to begin with buying record playing equipment? -

I'm using an eBay job, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324206554452 - which seems to be really decent quality so far, wasn't shipped from China so actually arrived in decent time, and wasn't the cheapest one going.
Seems well made and does the job. -
The usual, with any Japanese import make sure it's been undersealed and has a fog light fitted. Otherwise as mentioned, the engines are basically 1.4l Micra engines so all the consumable parts are pretty readily available. You might have to change the radio head unit since the frequency range that the Japanese one will pick up is no good for here.
Mine is brilliant as a general runaround/workhorse, and with the back seats down, it's like a little van. Plenty of room for a couple of bikes. Let me know if there's anything more specific you think of! -

There's a female friend of mine who I occasionally pass on my way to work, and I'll give her a slightly sarcastic sounding 'Oi Oi!' as I pass, in a manly laddy type of way. I sincerely hope that no-one in earshot thinks I'm doing it seriously...
Otherwise, I'm entirely sympathetic to every story I'm reading in here. It's tricky enough being a cyclist, and a woman, let alone trying to do them both together. I'll always do my best to call out anyone who I hear giving anyone shit from their vans (if I can catch up with them, of course. Which I usually can't).

I think this qualifies extra because of the description.

'The bike is honestly bulletproof. I raced around portsmouth winning a fair few small races. The bike is definitely the underdog of any meet up and ride out. Nobody expects the bike that looks like it’s came out the tip to be passing you at double speed and then get half a meter of air over speed bumps and come out alive(true story)'
An update to my previous post - a friend had a spare Technics separates system knocking about - so I've put the turntable through that, and the difference is worlds apart compared to the built-in speakers. I can actually hear some proper bass now!
