Einhell angle grinders are quite good valve, they’re not the best, but if they go wrong, tool station or whatever normally just replace them on the spot. Where as with more expensive grinders they send them back to the manufacturer to be repaired/replaced.
Having said that I’ve had my Bosch grinder for over 15years and it’s still going strong. -

This is going to sound batshit, but I’ve found that if you run the blocks with a bit of clearance from the rims they work much better. The made up science is as follows;
With the blocks close to the rim when you pull the lever you are using the force in the ends of your fingers to apply the force you need to stop, this is fine to slow you down, a gentle tickle of the brake, but not so good to apply stopping force. For which you need the whole of your finger and hand to get involved, so running the blocks away from the rim gives a chance for the whole hand to join the SHIT! we’re really trying to stop with cantis game. (I run cantis on my commuter and I’m not dead yet, or maybe I am and this is heaven/hell) -
Good to catch up with @Coop and @laurenced today. I say catch up, they caught us up truth be told. Good to another very different Midnight Special in the steel again. They are an evolution aren’t they¿

I like Russ’s how to set up canti brakes vid. It makes it simple(ish) good luck.

Got round to the finishing touch to my front light mount.
It’s the bit of steerer that was cut off, with a star nut pushed all the way flush to the end, a thin washer to stop the steerer hitting the fork and it now has a nice top cap and a longer set screw to tie it all together. It looks ok and best of all it was FREE! :D -

I wish we’d moved to the sea, but I’m near a river in Norfolk so it’s only a matter of time before the sea moves to me ;)
I’ve a plan that involves a ride to the coast and then seeing how far I can get along the shoreline (so far I’ve gone 2.5 miles in one chunk) and then off continue. Ride home and repeat. So no need for a fat bike just yet. It won’t be on the MS, I’ve an eye on a rigid XC bike. -

Ta @hippy I love a bit of under biking and as you, have ridden tons of miles on towpaths etc with 25s etc, but for this thing I want a BIG volume tyre that’s not too slow on the road, but there will be sand involved at some points. I’ve ridden on sand with both 650x47b and 2.1x27.5 and it was much easier on the fatter tyres. I don’t think it was the knobs that helped, just their size. So my thinking is a big 700c 29er slick would work well?
I have no idea?!!! But those spacers are made of real honest to goodness space.
This is what I was trying to add.
