I am taken aback and annoyed at the sheer number of self-declared AI experts and companies pushing their sales pitch on social media channels. Up until early last year it was all about Data, now it’s all about AI, but curiously little about Machine Learning.
Met two people at a FTSE10 corp that landed cushy near-6-figure jobs in AI roles when they have an unrelated background and all they do is prompt engineering. I guess I admire their gumption.

Johnson did more harm to the UK than Trump did to the US.
Debatable but I disageee. trump changed the political landscape for a generation, wrecked the remaining system of checks and balances, normalised hate, trashed the US’ not impecable but good reputation for honouring its alliances and treaty commitments, brought the US to the literal brink of civil war, weakened the relatively peaceful world order and emboldened Russia, sold naval nuclear secrets to the Saudis, and dismantled the international disease surveillance programme that could have changed the course of covid.
I’d argue he’s one of the singularly most damaging individuals of our time.

Beautiful.
@nick_h. A Russian political expert told me that Putin’s role is as the ultimate arbiter and final authority among Russia’s cleptocrats, plutocrats, oligarchs, para/military leaders, and state-tolerated mob leaders, all of whom lived through the bloody infighting of the 90s. Once he makes a decision, no debate is allowed, and it’s agreed and accepted that public complaint or disobedience will be answered overtly with incarceration, extreme violence or death.
He’s the single apex predator in an ecosystem full of predators, psychos and wanna-be supreme leaders. Every other major player who’s still alive, influential and free has adapted to survive and thrive abiding by his rules, and they have a vested interest in preserving the status quo, lest they lose it all in a reshuffle.
Prigozhin is the prime example. A billionaire with a veteran army at his back, poised to march on Moscow, and he chickened out. Opinions vary, but I suspect he realised Putin wouldn’t replace Shoigu with him despite Shoigu actively sabotaging Wagner in Ukraine, and when he realised he didn’t have the backing to challenge Shoigu or even Putin directly, he threw in the towel, possibly with assurances that Putin wouldn’t harm him. Then his plane fell out of the sky killing everyone onboard.

Trump has the game theory advantage in terms of jury selection. Both sides would benefit from sympathetic jurors, but trump only needs 1 juror secretly manipulating things for him or to find him Not Guilty in order to go free, where the prosecution needs all 12 jurors, sympathetic or otherwise, to find him Guilty.
There are some defences against a rogue juror, but assuming a trump insider weren’t an idiot (big assumption, yes) they could find ways bringing others into their thinking.
