I’ve had two people who work for me attempt to book time off to get Fillers/Botox as though they were Doctors/Hospital appointments.
There was outrage when I said no, it’s a “medical procedure “ apparently. I also had it pointed out my appearance falls below “Essex” standards and my lack of concern about my wrinkles was abnormal. -

This is the third time we have had a court date 1, was adjourned because his map was bollocks(we did ask for it to be thrown out)
2, he contacted the court at the last minute and said he was self isolating.
Each time he has altered his statement and map, this time he has added in a few photos showing the damage to his vehicle mixed in with ones of my car taken immediately after the crash he intends for the judge to think they are contemporaneous.
I’m sure they are taken elsewhere the railings and in another photo the road surface don’t match.
I’d love to know where because he was evasive about stuff in hearing no1 -

Roughly how much would it cost to get one side of a bottom bracket retapped?
I bought a bike on eBay described as “just needs new chainrings” and someone has installed the bottom bracket with mole grips.
Presumably because they needed an extra bit of torque to completely bugger the threads.
The seller seems open to a partial refundI’ve removed it but the threads look dodgy.
I’m taking the seized seatpost, the underestimated rust and the knackered jockey wheels as part of the fun of buying 2nd hand bikes but the seller must have known about the BB ( and the worn out rim).
Cheers

Sorry if I came across as rude......
I’m not sure if I know what it was like, I probably remember the good times more than the bad and I’m sure I was more exploited than I remember.
But I’m sure I had it better than Deliveroo etc. riders do now.Have a look at most McDonalds now and you can see 5-10 riders parked up. They have flooded the circuit which shows labour is cheap and available.

25 years ago Courier Companies also had a laissez-fair attitude to ID and would pay in cash or cash able cheque, the Nat West in Shoreditch didn’t ask for ID when cashing them.
Driving Licences didn’t have photos.
Some couriers had worked for the same company under multiple names, some literally didn’t exist in the legal world a lot were on student visas, a few were signing on.“Dibble, I took enough drugs this weekend to floor a horse” was an acceptable excuse to take Monday off.(I worked in the Control room for a while, digging the Push bikes out of bed on busy Mondays was part of my job.The Monday after Glastonbury we would be below half strength).
If you had these “benefits “ you didn’t mind missing out on holiday pay. And on a motorbike for West 1 I could make £600 a week before expenses (and of course tax).
You can’t be half in half out of the mainstream and you shouldn’t be forced to be by a company so when the “benefits” are taken away it just becomes an exploitative job without holiday pay or a minimum wage.

I doubt anyone else on here grew up in the North-East but with the help of people likeJohn Poulson and T.Dan Smith most of the town centres were marvels of brutalism.
What is happening is the natural evolution of retail at the moment things are just changing at a pace we are uncomfortable with.

You would expect a few Fords but3 Rovers and a Lotus is pretty upmarket.
