Now on day 7 of Ralph vs Saffron. Had a few hiccups before the weekend where we thought we might be able to reintroduce them only for it to turn sour after a few minutes, so back to square 1. Since Sunday we've been feeding them either side of a pet gate with a blanket draped over, slowly lifting it higher each time. Last night and this morning they were sniffing and kissing each other through the gate but then still getting a bit jumpy after a few minutes so we're being more patient this time around. The pet gate seemed dumb at first as they can both easily jump over it but it definitely gives them more confidence around each other so actually well worth. It's exhausting but definitely better than having two stressed out cats pissing all over the house! No idea how we would have done this before WFH days

After 7 months of (relative) peace, Ralph & Saffron have started fighting again. This time Saff has picked up the lovely habit of pissing herself when the fight gets really ugly. Just like last time, it was caused by mis-directed aggression from Saff when she came face-to-face with a neighbour's cat through the kitchen window. Same cat as 7 months ago... little shit-stirrer.
We're going through the tried and tested Jackson Galaxy method of keeping them separated and feeding either side of the door, will slowly progress to letting them sniff each other with the door slightly open, then hopefully back to normal. Tbh though having prior experience doesn't make it any less shit! Especially as Ralph, being a bit dim, doesn't seem to understand what's going on bless him
Pic of the little angels exactly a week ago... fingers crossed it's not too long before they get back to being like this!

Yeh I'd agree, reckon if I do it again I'll take the the hackney downs route you suggest as the Clapton common bit was just nasty. I don't mind the soggy towpath so much as I'm usually on my muddy fox with mudguards etc. But the recent reports of bike muggings in Springfield park make the road option a bit more attractive on the way home
Also, lousy Smarch weather this week can do one

Horrendous close pass this morning. Nice big van came within about 2 inches of my bars, clearly a punishment move for overtaking him a few minutes before in slow moving traffic. He got about 20 yards in front before getting held up again so I gave him a friendly smile and thumbs up (trying to channel ogmios) as I sailed down the bus lane past him
I decided to try out a faster route than my usual bimble down the lea river towpath on my commute from wood green > mile end. Taking the more direct route through seven sisters > stamford hill > clapton common then through hackney, shaved off about 20 minutes from my journey time but it was a significantly less relaxing cycle. Think I'll stick to the towpath in the future - adding on a mile to my commute to feel relaxed and enjoy the scenery/lack of cars on my way to work seems worth it

Its on the route of the old Palace Gates railway line, this spot has a plaque in the pavement and some old tracks marked out. It features in this video: https://youtu.be/PvP8q_slKa0

Don't suppose you still have these @walkmanman? Also looking for a 27 x 1 1/4 rear wheel

The front light is a b&m lumotec lyt N: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/lighting/busch-muller-lumotec-lyt-n-headlight-for-hub-dynamos/
And the rear is a seculite plus, I think this one: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/lighting/busch-muller-seculite-plus-rear-mudguard-dynamo-light-with-standlight/ but I originally got it from SJS for £10 as it was B-stock

Jersey taken. Cheers @Dibble nice to meet you earlier!
Any offers for the remaining bits (stems, dynamo light set, sealskinz gloves) before they go to charity shop/gumtree?

Well done! Our first and only trip to the vet so far sounded similarly stressful. Saff really hates the big plastic carrier we had, I think she's traumatised from her flight over from Abu Dhabi (!) where she was rescued. Took forever to get her into it, by which time we missed our appointment at the vets and had to pay extra for the nurse to stay after closing. And the first Uber driver to arrive was allergic to cats and drove off...
Now we have a fabric backpack style carrier which we've left out for them to use as a bed, in the hopes they associate it with nicer experiences than their plastic crates. Should also mean I can walk/cycle them to the vets and avoid any Uber shenanigans
Any recco's for a smallish/quietish skate park in north/east area? Decided to start skating again after a 15 year hiatus and want to go somewhere to practice where I won't feel like a total tit. Lordship rec is my closest, I haven't been yet but looks ok, if a bit busy with kids on scooters
