Thinking of moving over to Belfast somepoint next year. Seeing as this board is dead on its feet, was wondering what the current cycling scene is like. I see that @JWestland you seem to have been the most active on here!

I ride I a mix of fixed gear and my 26” rigid mtb, who knows maybe I can save a little on my rent a few more bikes might be added to the arsenal ;)

Got a free rim, it’s very badly damaged so can’t be built up again but if anyone has a need maybe for a diy project it’s yours, it’s only done 1k miles and it’s very clean.

Same with the hub 1k miles and very smooth but I can’t attest for its durability as the rim was badly damaged the hub could have some micro fractures.

Agree with what @Skülly said, well up for a nice ride to Cambridge but also unfortunately busy that weekend :(

After finally giving in and going down the dynamo route I’m now on a budget looking for a nice front light, maybe rear also if budget allows.

Obviously a Son Edelux ii would be lovely or a B&M IQ-X and if anyone is letting one go for a steal let me know ;)

This is great to hear, the size of the rear is what’s selling me on it. Was personally planning on mounting it on my seatpost with the provided mount. Will keep an eye on the prices of these now then and hopefully get a pair soon!

After just committing to my first dynamo wheel build with a pd-8 hub. I’m not after some lights, my budget was around 100 for a set give or take, now I was eyeing the iq-x and s models along side the classic son edelux ii (though out of budget at 129.99) rear light wise l I like the look of the Busch&Muller µ. Any of you have any more input to guide me toward the right lights.

This will be mainly commuting with the occasional longer weekend ride, though mainly sticking to roads.

Never had an issue with the tubes on mine, heavily used for the last year!

Looks like a proper success of a ride, gutted I missed it!

Had my bagman and super c for just under a month now, noticed a quiet clicking sound coming from my bagman on my last ride. Decided to take the super c off and have a look at the bagman.

Upon inspection I noticed that the two Allen bolts that secure the metal loop on are slightly bent, and when I unscrewed them both I noticed some small metal shavings come out with them, now I’ve cleaned the threads as best as I can.

Will try get a hold of Carradice tomorrow, it seems a shame as the bolts on mine are a more sturdy Allen head bolt with loctite on compared to the grub screws/button head that are usually moaned about on previous revisions.

All setup for my bikepacking escapades at the weekend. Just need to fit some mudguards and I’ll be all set.

I’ve swapped out the seatpost for an in-line for a slightly better fit, also borrowing the fork off of my mate for some better clearance.

I’ve just ordered a set off of crc with next day delivery, fingers crossed they arrive if not @vilms5000 will be able to sort me out.

But of a stretch, got a nice bikepacking trip for this weekend but after looking at the forecast mudguards might be in order. I’ve rang around the few shops in London that stock the sks bluemels 65mm but no luck.

Anyone within pickup distance from se15 have something I could buy?

I’m actually going to riding from Guildford to Winchester at the weekend before attempting the SDW, you have a nice route for that stretch?
