if i wanted to drill a steel fork with a hand drill, which has been drilled on the rear but not the front

am i ok just buying a good quality hardened drill bit, using the rear as a guide, and then gradually drilling larger?

i'm not sure how many times this has to be stated, gravel bikes are bought instead of a mtb when the user doesn't/ doesn't want to own a motorised vehicle

as such, they need to ride 20 miles of suburbia before they ride 3 miles of mud and fall off

will be 10sp deore, but with a track dropout so it can be single speeded, it's not disc so no fancy drop outs!

when slammed it fits a smaller tire suitable for touring/ every day (2/2.2x700)

then in winter you can put a big knobbly in the back and single speed it
