That was my conclusion too, yeah - for some reason some sources mention the Cantons as co-owners, which confused me a bit, but when you look into the official SBB report from 2018 it says that it's wholly owned by the 'Bund' and has been since its inception. I'm assuming there isn't really any source that would be more 'official' than that.

I was curious and looked it up, and well, seems like you are correct, but also it's all a bit of a mess and the MGB is part of a trio of companies of which one is the infrastructure (owned entirely by government), one is the management (owned half by the government, half by BVZ Holding), and one is MGB itself (presumably the actual trains etc.? Not sure) which is mostly owned by BVZ Holding.
So... yeah, we got some complicated company structures there too.

According to their data, no - the company is fully held by the 'Bund' or the 'Schweizerische Eidgenossenschaft' (Swiss Confederacy), which is the government at federal level. By the way, there are other companies also providing rail services such as the BLS, owned over half by the Kanton Bern and over 20% by the confederacy.
(Oh, also, the SBB itself in turn owns a whole host of other companies either fully or partially, such as SBB Cargo, a catering company, and some regional railways.)

SOLF: Bit of an OT item this time: due to switching to a 'proper' Espresso machine, this trusty old Nespresso machine (Magimix Inissia M105) is going spare. Worked great last time I used it a few months ago, has been stored well since. Has a couple of normal usage scruffs but nothing serious, and I'll give it a quick polish before handing it over. Comes with a bunch of sleeves of capsules.

Not sure whether everyone has noticed this, I only did a minute ago: PROSPER10 for 10% off, £100 min spend, max £50 off, theoretically on specific items, but it seems all the bike stuff in my watch list has it. Only valid till tonight midnight though, so not sure how useful that'll be.

Holy crap they have some actual Vélocipèdes.

Yep, that is indeed a common thing. There is also a flourishing semi-legal thing where you get stuff sent to some private address just on the other side of the border (e.g. Konstanz) and then at some point you drive there to get the stuff yourself, banking on not being stopped at the border because, well, they usually don't. Basically, not the worst thing in the world, but definitely super annoying.

Surely, that's why they change colour once in a while, right?
@Camel_toe :D
Hey, sorry about this, the rug is now gone!
