These are great. Leather palms, so a bit of balm/care needed, but good waterproofness and warmth even on frozen mornings. The website has loads of other gloves as well.

I did similar, trimming side sections out of a plastic and alloy front guard to fit it through a fork, and eventually it snapped at the place I'd trimmed it (so right underneath the crown). If you can support the front section of it another way, with a stay forward of the fork (mine is now attached to the basket above it it!) or something that might be stronger.

Three years ago Winston quoted me £60 for a disc tab brazed on the top of the seat stay, £20 for a brace betwixt seatstay and chainstay, £20 to remove canti mounts. A respray after that would have been c.£120.
Also had a quote from Caren Hartley of around £100 for the disc tab (so exactly the same without the paint) but neither of them had seen the frame in person so these were estimates to give me an idea.
I didn't go for it in the end but I'm still tempted (with a different frame now!) - maybe one day. Anyway a guide idea of pricing for you.

Pick your budget. Don't go for a built-in visor though, just my opinion on looks!

So many fantastic bikes in this thread. I picked up a Trek Singletrack 970 frame and fork the other day, need to clean some black, almost rubbery/plastic-like stuff off the paintwork and then it'll be a very slow build over a long time. Don't have any photos to hand, but might start a build thread whenever I get round to it.

Subbing for interest. More day van stuff than full camper though.
