I brought mine before I worked for sjs, and recommended them too! They are infinitely better and the sjs built ones are not £95 like the Brompton superlight.

Yes, £95, not black though, or go on sjscycles.co.uk and you can get a jtek hub onto a cr18 or Brompton rim - black or silver, or we can build silver onto black / vice versa, or there’s Andra 20rims which are bombproof

Fitting a pair on a project bike as we speak, light, no doubt, but not for me. 10nm and the crank bolt sheared, so currently got to get that drilled out... superlight stuff is fancy, but it’s certainly no where on the level with Brompton stuff that’s generally suitable to last the distance

Chas/nico seem to have a great spirit for it, having fun but definitely there to meet the checkpoints and not cruise it

Aye! 75% to be cultivated, so 25% is decking, compost, water butts, tool box, bench and wood storage, then next on the project list is a self built greenhouse/plant nursery...

With the little human it just means she has somewhere to chill safely, we don’t have a garden at home so it also covers that- the other people love it, and appreciate it means we spend more time there!

Regular horse muck is great! My current source is a 3 mile ride on the cargo bike, not ready to get any yet as we are still clearing... what a mission it’s been so far..

Regularly head down the canal on it with kojaks no problem, have also ridden a few mtb trails including steepish stuff!

Bromptons are all custom and have so many set ups, I’m currently working on one that stock, was 7.8kg before changing more stuff. There’s multiple bar types, seatpost lengths, tyres, gearing options bla bla bla, to say they are heavy and uncomfortable imo is not something I agree with, knowing people who ride them daily, including myself, people who have done 200mile + rides etc.

I’d love to do tcr on my little wheeler, As roger said, it’s just a fun bike to ride. I would never be fitting an Alfine though! Sucks he’s had those issues, but I love that he’s gone for something others will turn their nose up at!

Hub flanges are pretty major! Rohloff now offer, and will only warranty, hubs with flange rings, an extra support ring over the flange to stop breaking!

For a race like this, I just don’t think it’s suitable, they have many applications, but you don’t need the robustness, the weight is too much, and if you do have a problem, unlikely to be fixed!

Better off going for risers on an m stem, Joseph kuosac risers, looking at the sales, are hugely popular, added to an s type you make an m type, add to an m type you get a SM mid type!
