Ok, so I was under the impression that 12 speed Shimano chains have weird shaping on the inner of the plates. Which I definitely don’t see looking at it. But supposedly that has some part of the non-interchangeability of Sram/Shimano/Campy 12 speed.

So I can find a lot of talk about 12 speed chains on 11 speed rings, but what about 11 speed chains on 12 speed rings.

Thinking of an 11 speed chain on an XTR 38/28 double with XTR rd actuated by a bar end shifter. This would be coupled with a Centaur Rd and probs a 11-34 Ultegra cassette.

We've been doing it, I think sometimes they come in identical bottles.

We used these for CX in the late 90s with 9 speed no problem.

There's a funny story here, these bikes were built by Hot Tubes with the wrong tubing. Toby was shipped the tubesets, and built half the frames before anyone at Cervelo realized. Oh well I guess not that funny, and its hardly a story.
