Finally getting to work on that bridge.

So I started rebuilding it today. Lots of simple green, and like 3 coats of bike lust brining it back to life.

Installed a IRD monster cross fork, had to drill the back to get the rack to mount with a recessed nut. And began the wiring for a dynamo charger in the steerer tube. Will be building some new 650b wheels.

So a little while ago I traded my Serotta for this + some cash. Gotta say I was disappointed with what I received, totally knackered drivetrain, broken hanger, and shot brakes. Was so bummed that I’ve just been sitting on it, with zero work done.

The 440 M151’s have the same width at the hoods as the 460 Rene Herse Maes bars.

So new stem is 90mm vs 110 on the old one, and the bars have a bit more reach, but I guess the reach is equal to the 20mm lost, hood to front of post is the same measurement on both set ups.

These just came in the post, hopefully will get them installed tomorrow.

TT to ST lugs are fairly common I think? Unless you’re describing something and I’m misunderstanding.

The tyres are supposedly 33s, but they measure 32.5 on fairly wide rims.

Swift moved SOME production to Asia.

So sending the Hot Tubes off to have the rear cantis
respaced, temp build on the Mooney while I wait for the Tubes to come back. Need to swap headset and figure out light mounting.

The braking is great, the sound not so much. Little bit of squeal with the XT cantis and kool stop pads, lotsa squeal with the same pads and Paul Mini Motos. Swiss Stops on Spooky cantis was the worst.

It’s been dry here, we’re in the middle of a drought so have not tried them in the wet, might be getting a thunderstorm on the commute home, so perhaps will be able to text them out.

I think I may solder the end of the brake cable so I can slip it and the housing out of the guides. All the rinko instructions I can find have slotted guides.

Thinking of a rinko build, I have some 10 speed Dura-Ace bits kicking around.

Need to figure out how to rinko-fy full length brake housing.

New rear wheel, getting ready for the first CX race of the season Saturday.

Geo charts generally give me headaches.

But in theory there should not be a big difference between these two forks when running different wheel sizes, correct? The 50mm rake fork also is 9mm taller axle to crown.

Second 200k with this awesome bag, ended up using the RaClips from Waxwing and the mount is rock solid.

So this was gonna go on the Spooky, ‘cause I didn’t think I’d have enough clearance with the super narrow posts on the Hot Tubes. Looks like it’s gonna work!

Making things weird, again.

It has a strap around the tombstone. And yellow paracord goes up around the tombstone.

Swapped out the fork for something I could stick one of those RH racks on, and a new bag from Wax Wing. Bag is great, just can’t figure out how to keep it from swaying.

I would hazard EBay, but if it’s going on an Indy you can always email them, or perhaps velocals?
