It’s fine if you have a lot of cash. Most people have nowhere near enough to get decent care.
I live in Canada.
A friend who is a doctor moved to the US. He has several stories of people afraid to get treatment because they are afraid of being bankrupted, ruined for life, losing their home.
When they do present at an ER they are often way too far gone for successful treatment.
Most don’t have a family physician.
I see lots of bitching about the NHS but America is infinitely worse unless you have a good employee health benefit. -

Just pull doctors and nurses out of thin air?
There are critical staff shortages everywhere. Emergency rooms shut for lack of staff. Patients waiting 12 hours to see an emergency doctor.
Also private health care that most cannot afford.
Insurers don’t approve any treatment they can avoid, even life threatening.
But yeah, sure, increase service levels. -
