Worth mentioning that Fratello's have excellent tyre clearance. Running 30mm with guards! Could go up to a small 32/33 tyre without guards, amazing for a rim brake bike. This was great for light gravel duties.

This UA is maybe the same vintage as mine, Enviolo, Performance, chain drive. Enviolo Hubs get a bad rep here but what can I say, it shifts and hasn’t let me down yet. I’d love to have a go on one of the new ones with a cargo line motor to feel the difference. That said I got up Forest Hill with 80kg of horse manure and didn’t die.

If I were you I’d consider what the overlaps are with the other cargo bikes in the stable. Bullets are nice but if you’re carrying kids the UAs feel very solid and safe due to the hefty weight and eps box, the rain cover is good, you can clip in a child seat etc. the whole usability package.

Well, top end tyres like GP5k RRP are now £99.99(!), so unfortunately £60 Gravelkings are mid range at best. Everything has gone up, doesn’t mean they aren’t expensive but it’s all relative in the new normal.

Generally no mixing, unless you can be sure the main compounds are the same. Some are latex based etc.

I use 2 gold locks (of 2 different styles). A gold U and a chain + wheel lock. 2 different styles of lock is the key as they require 2 different tools/techniques to remove.

Gravelkings are garbage. They’re cheap for a reason. Don’t try and set them up tubeless.

Just get the biggest column rads you can fit in, they'll still preform better than gunked up old ones.

And you'll only be running them for 5 months of the year, but looking at them for 12.
