I have one that cost £14.99 from Aldi. I have to be honest, its amazing. Great for clearing out your teeth before brushing. Without going into detail I have bad wisdom teeth that are challenging to keep clean. I'm convinced that its kept me from needing serious work etc on my wisdom teeth which are simply impossible to clear with old school floss and interdental brushes (which often made the teeth bleed from the physical poking).
Can't comment on the top end Oral B one, but its just a rechargeable handheld jet squirter thing, there's nothing to it really. Could always try a cheap one to start and see if the concept works for you.

I know there’s been a bit of interest in the new GP5KS TR tubeless tyres. So here’s a mini review.
Stock is still non existent of these unicorn tyres, but I spotted some in Germany which I bagged at medium/great expense. My summer bike has worn out a pair of the original GP5K tyres so I can offer a direct comparison.
Fitted the 25mm tyres to a pair of LB AR 45 wheels with 21mm internal width. DREAMY tubeless setup. They were tight but I got them on with thumbs alone, massive contrast to the OG GP5K tyres that required 2 people and much swearing. The tyres blew up first time with a normal track pump. Despite being Tubeless Ready, they held pressure without sealant. Once they were seated in the rims I used a syringe to put 40g of caffelatex sealant in. On 21mm internal rims they blow up to just over 25mm. No problems whatsoever.
Ride quality is MUCH improved from OG. IMO the main issue with the OG 5k tyre was the super stiff casing making them horrible to mount and harsh/stiff feeling to ride. The new ones feel super soft, grippy, plush and very fast to ride. They’re fantastic, let’s hope stock level improves so the price comes down.

I think I was being a bit flippant in saying that tanks are completely done. These are all good examples and relatively recent in the grand scheme of things, but these cases were all before the internet/cheap tech/drones. Big tech changes over the past decade meaning tanks are too slow and vulnerable now.
Literally swarms, 1000's of cheap drones loaded with munitions remotely piloted by teenagers from the other side of the planet. I think that's what warfare will be/nearly is.

RE the Business Insider article. It’s not great, there are big assumptions talking about the use of Starlink. I used to work in satellite tech.
Starlink is just a satellite enabled traditional Wi-Fi router, the fundamentals are not new tech. It’s an internet source broadcasting via an old school Wi-Fi router. The drones categorically do not connect via Starlink, they’ll be using radio or 3G data mobile signal if that still exists.
Starlink access will allow the remote operators to tap into the internet for live target intelligence, but it has nothing to do with the operating of the drones.

What would be interesting is to look into how motor vehicles were first introduced and lessons learnt from that. I imagine, when cars first came out you could also do whatever and they were 'even more' of a menace to society.
I do think that once they're legalised, with everyone using good quality machines, and lots of normal people start to use them, many of the issues will reduce.

Great to see so many cyclists out this morning, but what carnage honestly. 10 cyclists myself included nearly got taken out crossing the road on CS6 by a delivery cyclist RLJing down Farringdon st, a MGIF BMW driver on CS1 who ended up making about 4 meters of progress and then holding everyone up because they got stuck.
Things are pretty much back to normal..

Unfortunately that seems to be the prevailing opinion from space analysts. The suits would have taken a month to make, and the mission launch date coincides with the national day to celebrate the annexation of Crimea. So yeah, state PR gaff rather than brave stunt from anti war people in Roscosmos.
I have seen some people saying that Russian media was reporting that the yellow in the suits was because of the local regional colours of where the cosmonauts are from. Which would be a first, very odd and convenient…

Just to add my own experience to the doom scroll that this thread has become.
Had an offer accepted on a new place in August. Waited 8 months for the seller to find a house they wanted to buy. Got all excited when they found something last month, paperwork started rolling. Call this morning from the Agent saying that they've decided not to sell and are pulling out. Fan fucking tastic. Can I get 8 months of my life back?

I do think that the narrative of Russia ‘losing’ or ‘stagnating’ in their Ukrainian adventure is a misguided western media interpretation. The basic fact is that they are slowly taking territory.
Comically bad military tactics, terrible civilian and Russian army casualties are irrelevant, as they always have been in Russian wars - on the basis that there won’t be any Russian public backlash.
As has been stated elsewhere, they win by mass, eventually, at terrible cost, they will win, it’s just a matter of time.
I think the only positive out of this adventure has been to show how genuinely bad the Russian military is and that if they can be held by a 3rd rate military like Ukraine, than they would loose against any single major western nation, and would get completely overrun by the combined force of NATO. The only thing keeping them in the game are nuclear weapons (RE North Korea).

Can confirm that Hutchinson tubeless tyres are still a dream to install. My 4th one that's gone up perfectly just with a track pump, I've tried a few varieties, all 100% success 1st time.
Sadly I only bought one to replace a worn out rear. I replaced the front with a Challenge Strada that wept sealant all over the walls and is still refusing to hold air on the same Kinlin rim. Utter crap.
Moral of the story, Hutchinson tyres are superb tubeless.

3rd dibs on bell, can collect
