In general for threads you want an engagement length as a multiple of the bolt diameter to give appropriate engagement while also not wasting material or making the joint so strong you can strip the threads.
Steel would be starting at 1x.
For Alu 2x.When I work to these rules of thumb at work the mechanical engineers tend to be pretty happy as a starting point. (For the thread pitches I work to)

So stopthetories.vote have published their recommendation for a tactical vote in my area and it's unsurprisingly Labour.
I did a bit of reading and they appear to be putting up a parachute candidate, while the Green candidate has been an amazingly positive and visible benefit to the area for a few years now.
I'm conflicted.
Edit: am in a traditional Tory stronghold so had assumed Greens or LD would have a more realistic chance.

This is pure nick Ferrari with his questioning and delivery.
Personally I'm not a huge fan of his way of interviewing and he should be asking other questions like is the two cap limit fair and what are the policies for your dept at this election.
In this case (and I feel dirty for saying it) I think that confirming child benefits is outside his portfolio was a fair response.
Age limits to the lord's and the nations 2nd chamber are interesting.
It could end up being like the US senate and with more power than the lords. It would change how legislation gets scrutinised though.
Still waiting to hear more about the rumour of labour planning to stuff the lord's to the gunnels. Maybe that's just based off the age limit thing and refilling seats. Will it be the govt. having power to fill seats at their own choice rather than some sort of democratic system?
