Froome has a wheel replaced with a motorised one and still decides to spin like a madman on the smallest ring. Fair play to him.

How did AG2R not capitalise on the time they initially took off Froome? They seemed to be a bit disorganised as he just spun his way back up. Like opportunity lost there.

It's one of these. Gives you a longer bolt to fit a standard nut to. Doesn't solve the long drop issue though!

Have some cheap track drops here if you want to try them out. Also have a brake extender bolt which might be the solution to your front caliper.

Does Aru need the help? He seems to be protecting himself pretty cannily so far. His unpredictability (and the unusual stages) is helping make the race exciting. Aru's break attempt when Froome had a mechanical was just what was needed; some spice. It seems to have forced Sky to come out to play and the game of poker today with all the leaders eying and testing each other was absolutely fantastic to watch. Hope for more like today.

Second vote for attempt a rethreading. Nip it to a good bike shop that is local to you and see what they can do - that would seem to fit best with the philosophy of your build so far. Alternatively source a different non-drive side crank arm from ebay and delight in a unique pedalling style!

Here is a picture of my 25mm Gatorskins on the track fork from a 2017 Pre Cursa. It's tight with about 2mm spare.

I'm not sure it would be nice to see the tour decided by one competitor having a mishap like that. Aru could have gone, but it would have left a bitter taste, no?
