@velocista What did you end up doing? Did you have to carry your bike with you each time? I am curious, as I want to start some training at LVV.
-
Thanks @ekudduke. I will probably do the same, I will go for a more comfortable setup than a pure track one (10 degree stem slammed sounds comfy enough). I am new to velodrome training, so right now it's hard for me to say what works best, which is why I am trying to get inspiration from other setups.
-
@ekudduke Yes! Now that I think about that, I saw pictures of you and Chas riding the Parallax on a Japanese track. You don't use specific track components on the velodrome though, do you? Like high angle stem, or short drop bars.
-
Does any of you use a Cinelli Parallax for track training/racing? I mean an actual build meant for the velodrome and not for the road. I have a Parallax frame and I want to build this one for the track.
Do you have any recommendation on components that fit well? If you did build one, I am really curious to see some pictures! -
oh, amazing, a full sub-forum! Thanks @BareNecessities!

Thanks @dangeek! I am checking Epping Forest on the map now and it looks promising.
I forgot to mention that I am happy to take some train out for some cool weekend gravel rides. Also, I would be happy to check some Strava tracks from which I can take inspiration.

quick update: I have got a new BLB cog tonight and it fits the hub threading. Thanks @M_V for making me get rid of that piece of shit Miche :D
I will post again once I do a proper test ride. Happy Halloween everyone!

Thanks for all your comments, @M_V!
Techincally they are not even standard Miche hubs, but unbranded hubs on Ambrosio wheels. However, I asked Ambrosio by email and they said they are just Miche hubs rebranded. I am going to try with a BLB cog later this week, maybe I was just unlucky with EAI and Phil.I doubt that the threads are damaged, because before putting the cog a week ago, I had never used that side of the flipflop.

Also see the bottom paragraph of this page: http://www.fixedgeargallery.com/reviews/hubreview/miche/
From my experience, it makes sense. -

Today I was about to use a chainwhip to tighten the cog and I realized I have a Miche cog, so a lockring is enough to tighten it. It's basically this system, with a cog carrier: https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Miche-Fixed-Track-Sprocket_32271.htm
Now the carrier (and therefore the cog) and the lockring are very tight, but the slippage is still there. I kept riding today, just to see if the problem cures itself and when I got back home I found out that the bolt of the crankset was loose (the one on the non-drive side on a Sram Omnium). I am sure I had tightened it properly before leaving for the ride, so something happens that makes it loose while I ride. Does anyone have a similar problem?
-
I know, I know, an Optical Parallax with an Omnium, quite stereotypical and a bit of a 2015 vibe, but fuck it, it's my build, and I love every single component!
Many thanks to @AlphaOmega for all the consultancy! (love this forum because of people like him)

I better avoid skidding until it's well tight then.
I used a Pedro Trixie for the lockring https://pedros.com/products/toolsfor-the-ride/trixie-black/ -
Can I do this with a sscx and gravel tyres? If yes, I am in!
