Same knee as before. It was the off road as it was pretty bumpy, i was definitely carrying too much weight as had by bivvy (came in handy though). I changed the set up after it went for the first time and tried to manage the pain.
It was a fun event and loved having a little insight into the ultra world

I was loving Further East but my knee went around midnight and i tried to swap the set up around so i could continue in anyway but now i can barely walk. I've scratched now and had a good sleep.
I'm gutted as I've got some decent fitness to compete and sitting around 6th was achievable (my aim was to move to 5th through the night), now i need to recover fast.
Josh had a mechanical at the start so lost a fair bit of time to Neil.

My tyre choice for Further East, not sure if big enough or grippy enough but oh well let's see how they do. I'm actually going to run them as tubeless (currently a tubeless virgin) so hopefully that should help with puntures. I was tempted to keep my 650bs but the tyres are GK slicks which aren't great when cornering, also they were way too close to the NDS chainstay so i couldn't get anything bigger or knobblier in there

It's a good policy but it making it difficult to actually get there, 5am start so there's little options for me. Probably a train to Cambridge after work on Thursday and then a ride to the start and will sleep close or I can ride to my uncles who lives in Exning and then ride 20 miles there in the morning....
I'm in anyway, I'm just waiting on more information. I'm slightly worried I glazed over some details when signing up last night, oh well

Hello Hippy, how was your trip?
It's all sorted now, Isen were great and swapped my frame and completed the insurance quote which was paid out the same day so I'm currently riding a new Isen which is lovely with a replacement being made. It was a few days or worrying but that was mainly having the excitement of completing LEJOG wiped away by what seemed like a bad situation. (I was being dramatic)

It feels OK actually, i did about 20km commute this morning without pain but i was riding softly. I spent Saturday and Sunday doing as much physio/recovery as humanly possible, I even went to a spa on Saturday evening (My sister got me into her gym) to do hot/cold therapy which seemed to help. I'm going to take this week lightly and not push any watts so hopefully it'll be ok. I managed 4 months without injury and that had a 54 hour week in, so I think I can get it back under control quickly.
I'm still gutted about having to scratch Further East but on the positive side, I know that post challenge I can be a lot stronger/faster with structured training and S&C.
