I think what I'm getting at is my dislike of the huge headtube/38c tyres/motorbike brakes, decorated twin-tone blubber school of contemporary road bike design which the R3 is definitely not, or so it still seems to me.

I don't understand the rationale behind the super tall headtube on a race bike, even running a minus 17 stem on the low stack cover being supplied you'd struggle to reach the position of the older frames (I've long arms and run a -17 on a 177 headtube and wouldn't get this to fit - pity, because I'd like to try the r3). I'm sure there are Cervelo forums that have done this to death but when you see the frame outside of that sort of context you see the change in proportions quite clearly... riotsquad, did this work for you?

Yes it is that bike. However I look at it I don't see a chance in hell that Specialized would allow that on a premium frame. The stickers are wrong too. But still be interesting to know why the 'mounts' got there - angles and clearances suggest this was not a bike intended for racks.

I don't understand the Monday morning prognosis, why would there be minimal extrusions at this point on either stay, inverted or not? Nobody else think this could be some kind of number holder (going to jontea's point), or is that wishful thinking?

I've been admiring the blue Principia. I picked up the (hopefully attached) blue '58' below, and was caught once again by Principia's weird sizing - it's too small for me. If you ever considered parting with yours ....

The dura ace wheels are on ebay but I would pull them off if a buyer was really keen on them.
