Depending on how much rod you've got left over, you could try and do two test pieces and anneal one and then do some destructive testing.

I'm really happy with my pelago rack and the "rasket" on my GF's bike. We just did a 300k tour with them and we used 10-13 liter front panniers - it worked just fine even over rough gravel paths.

What do you plan on doing with your dynamo lights?
I got a cheapish AXA Blueline Front light with 30 lux I think and while I wouldn't use it on dark singletrack, it's plenty for unlit city streets.

I frickin' love my pelago rack. Their "Rasket" is even better (have one on the GF's bike).
But both our touring bikes are our daily rides as well, so the added functionality is a huge plus.

Nah, it just shows a surplus of commitment and serious lack of traction :D
