Yup, that’s pretty standard in traditional JCT Contracts but definitely the way to do it for anything of a certain value/size. Works valued on a monthly basis with 5% held back. 2.5% released on practical completion (ie: when the scaffolding is removed in the above example/works signed off etc.). 2.5% held back for 12months to rectify any damages resulting from movement/settling etc.

Who organised the scaffolders and the tower? If you then your problem, if the builders then that's on them and lol at paying before the job is complete (ie: works finished, site cleared). How can you be sure that the works won't be damaged as the scaffolding is being dismantled?
Your builder's invoice will have payment terms that will be, or should be, longer than the end of the week. Just say that everything is good and that you'll be making payment this week and see how it plays out. Nearer the time mention the scaffolding and say you'll make transfer when it's being driven away from your property.

Hand & Eye have some nice products, and the ceramic bodies are quite different in appearance from the usual aluminium extrusions.
I really like how the power supply for their A-Beam fitting is through the suspension cables rather than being an additional flappy flex like my long/heavy suspended fittings, so much cleaner in appearance.

Must have been, it's been a bit since I've worked with IQ (they typically get valued-engineered out of projects) but I'm not sure if they specialise in pivot doors, unlike Maxlight who definitely do. The system I mentioned upstream (slide and pivot) is different again and more aligned with multi-sliders/bi-fold as opposed to a single door.

We got them on ours from Sunseeker back in 2016 because they seemed to merge the benefit of bi-folds (ability to fully open which of course we rarely do) with the benefit of PPC aluminium sliding doors and slim sightlines. From memory they were bi-fold moneys rather than fancier products mentioned in here. Thermally they meet all the relevant standards and we've had no issues with seal/drafts. They do have a bizarre opening mechanism which seals te panes together when closing which no-one can figure out so there is that...

fancy option on our doors
We need more info!
And for Bifold vs French vs Sliding doors
Slide and pivot doors also an option. The slimness of sliding doors with the ability to fully open like bi-folds. Each pane slides independently to the opening point and then pivots open so a different technique but removes the clunkiness of bi-folds.

Incredible scenes. My partner works in that world and I remember going to London Mens Fashion Week mid-10's before it dwindled away (RIP free booze events).
The amount of preening and powerfully walking back and forth in front of venues and waiting street photographers was a sight to behold. See also; leaning against things looking into the distance; over-exaggerated chats between small groups; over accessorised outfits whilst hanging around with purpose.
Pitti is next level for peacocking so high hopes for these photos.

I’m being part antagonistic. We used a decent solicitor for our last purchase and they did help drive things forward from our side. That only went so far and you are always at the mercy of others in the chain. I don’t doubt you’re correct about nature of the market, but a sceptical/frustrated mind might put 2 and 2 together and think it is linked with hourly rate fees as opposed to EA’s who everyone knows are actively looking to drive things forward for their % fee. Much of the house buying process in England is wrong in general and promotes general shithousery behaviour from all.
From a re-mortgaging side, our current provider (Nationwide) insisted on the conveyancing solicitor we used and they were beyond painful, not much you can do in that situation other than grit your teeth and bemoan them to internet buddies.

I'm doing the same thing and was equally surprised and invested in series 1. Series 2 definitely drops in quality and verges towards ITV (I know it's on BBC) Sunday evening drama territory but at 6 episodes is easy enough to see through and isn't unwatchable. Need to start series 3 and hoping for a return in quality.
