The next task to handle is cranks. Want something very HHSB, but would also go for something like a pair of omniums. Anyone got any for sale, or could anyone recommend some cranks?

So I started off my picking up a Corima front wheel from @c4shr (cheers for that, dude!). This puts us one step towards HHSB status.

Believe me, I know - it's not new, it's a bit samey, but I'm going to have a crack at building my new Cinelli Mash into a sweet HHSB street whip. I know it will probably end up like one of those run-of-the-mill Instagram pr0n crit bikes - but that's the point of this thread. Hopefully, the forum can help me to avoid that.

Because I had a 58T chainring lying around, and am addicted to silly gearing. Also, it's not like I can't get the same range of gears, by having larger cogs, but then can also go down to silly ratios like 58x12, which I thought was a good idea for a while

Good to know, man. I might just have a shot at fitting my 58 on there! Also, it doesn't really help that I don't know how old my bike is- but I believe that it was raced at the 1st RHC, so it's coming up to 10 years old at least (Does anyone know when the Pre Cursa came into production?)

The Dolan is my beater, so I'm just using a pair of Sugino RD2 cranks - but I plan to change those out for races

Well shit - I'm going to have to try it out on my Dolan then. Hopefully I can squeeze it on there. Use a longer spindle BB and deal with the incorrect chainline?

Ah okay, I think I'll sell the PX on then - It would probably be fine for someone wanting a sweet Carbon hipster sled bike. Only issue is whether the Dolan will clear the chainring I want to put on it. 58 teeth - anyone know about clearance? My Dolan PC is a pretty old model

I wouldn't ride the Dolan on the street. I've been riding it on the street for a long time, and it's getting too small for me to ride in the street comfortably. The bolt is perfect for comfortable street riding, whereas the Planet X or Dolan would be okay for racing

I agree - I think my aero wheels will be effective enough. 4 spoke front and a disc on the rear. I just wondered which frame would be nicer to race on. Also, my Dolan has been through enough scrapes and scratches - I'm not afraid to crash it, at all. Looks like I'll stick to the Dolan.

Yo guys. I currently have a Dolan Pre Cursa, a Cinelli Mash Bolt 2.0, and I'm soon to get my hands on a Planet X Pro Carbon Track. I want to start racing, and would rather keep my Cinelli as my everyday bike.

So, between the Planet X, and the Dolan, which should I race on? I know that the Planet X is lighter, and more aero, but it also flexes loads, from what I've seen. Would I just be better building my Dolan up nicely for races?
