We went away for Christmas and left The Floof Monster at home with a neighbour popping in twice a day for four nights. We got back yesterday lunchtime and she’s not left alone since then. She’s not a lap cat, but she’s been snuggled up next to us on the armchair, sofa, bed etc all the time. It’s all rather lovely.

On the bright side, you’re not in Sheffield any more.

My first mtb was a Stumpy. I bought it back from California back in 1984, it cost me a bloody fortune back then, what with shipping and taxes, around £800. Of course I rode it like mad and sold it on when mountainbikes really started to progress component-wise, and I bought an early Fisher. Still regret it.

I had a tuned VTR - loved it. Moriwaki cams and ti system, Maxton forks, Spondon rear end with a Fox shock, it was stupidly fast and agile. But Jesus, if you caned it you got less than 100 miles to a tank. Was huge fun tho.

Soz, forgot all about this. Yeah, it was great. Fairly even first half, took an early lead and then conceded late on following a break from our corner. Second half was totally different and we ran Swindon ragged and won 4-1, and it could have been more. Very happy with that.

The above-mentioned Dark Arts is a fantastic classic stout, 6% so it’s not too mad, but it’s very dark and not at all sweet. A personal favourite of mine. Also, Five Point’s Railway Porter is a cracker, always on cask at The Pembury Tavern in E8 if you’re in the area.

Yay. Found a 440ml can of Magic Rock’s Dark Arts in the back of the fridge.

Just rolled up at the pub before Leyton Orient v Swindon. Got a bit wet riding here so am sat with a pint and my boots drying on a handily-placed radiator. Lots of Swindon fans in here. Looked at the form table, to see that Swindon have won their last 8 (eight) away games.
