Is that because they're universal size so on etsy and stuff carpenters would do them in small batches?
I was chatting to a forum recommended carpenter/kitchen fitter the other day and he said he buys ikea kitchens because the fixings/fixtures are good/replaceable and then he builds bespoke doors and worktops -

Subbed. Lovely
Gonna be the third person to ask which tip as I also live in Bristol and have a few tip runs to make..
I was once at the tip near my dad's and they were funny about letting me go to the bike pile without a bike to throw away, and almost certainly wouldn't have let me take one away...Any ideas why the top of the seat tube and base of the top tube are like they are? Repaired at some point?
My family live in Derby and if you wanted to get it sprayed at mercian, I'd be able to get it there and back without too much delay - though I'm sure argos are similar price wise..

Has anyone asked their solicitor questions after completing? I think as long as it's within a few months hopefully they'll help me
-thinking about getting retrospective permission for my back windows getting changed by previous owners.
-not sure if I need PP to retrofit double glazing on front side original sashes (conservation area, not listed)And a few other bits

Starting to think a bit more about the peregrine. Unfortunately missed out on some klampers on here (thanks anyway @Nick_S). Also unfortunately moved the Stanton on as didn't do much mountain biking on it, and instead used it on 'gravel' rides which it was fine on, but the peregrine will suit more.
Genesis CDF might get 1x9 (microshift, something second hand?) and flat bars because once the singular is here, it won't do anything over 15km. It'll keep both front and back racks for commuting/shops.
Back to the peregrine. Got a the frame, blue hope H/S and a ritchey seatpost put aside from the bike shop. It'll be used for 'gravel' rides, touring with a rear rack, bikepacking and maybe heading out with Audax Club Bristol hopefully. Want to get stuff second hand where I can to keep cost reasonable.
Not sure what to do groupset or wheel wise. 1x or 2x. Think I'll get the shop to put me aside some nice 700x40 tyres and I'm leaning towards 2x. That should work well on and off road.
Might this groupset work with the flat mount frameset designed for 160mm discs?

First couple of weeks!
-Snagged loads of mkt place furniture, ordered a sofa, worn coat inside a lot, thought about paint, sketched floorplans, got stressed how much work it'll be, booking a boiler serviceStarting with fixing the stained glass window (managed to find 2 people to come out, who will visit this week) and someone to fix up the sash windows. It is so drafty.
Want to get bathroom and kitchen plan sorted and booked in.
Then can get into stripping wallpaper.
Carpets, doors etc last/ in the future depending on how much bathroom and kitchen costs
1st photo - kind of share of freehold lease (absent freeholder, management co of which I am 1/5 owns the head lease and in the process of going to absolute title, then I have a sub lease with the man co). Is it worth broaching the idea of opening up a structural wall? Seems like a no go straight off the bat

Been sketching so many floorplans until I can get someone qualified to come back to me.
Leaning towards min bathroom where current bathroom is 1.3x1.4m. tight but hopefully possible. Then carve the store room into two and add an en suite if plumbing allows it. Opens up the hallway, makes the stained window a feature again and then ideally open plan the kitchen unless building regs requires a wall...Lot of people suggesting a remove some of the load bearing wall between lounge and kitchen.

Are there any recommended coffee machines on sale at the moment?
I use an aeropress at work and I've heard ground to cup is cheaper than bean to cup, plus I use a cafetiere sometimes so I'm thinking
-nice grinder
-nice ground coffee to cup machine for espresso/long blacksNot particularly bothered about a steam function
Cheers

Been looking on Bristol council site for a while and can't find answers to these for my flat which is in a conservation area. Managed to find an email address to check if you are in the conservation area so I have speculatively emailed.
Do I need planning permission to retro fit double glazing in my existing (likely original) single glazed sash windows?
The previous owners changed the back 2 bedroom windows for UPVC sash. I don't think they got permission for this. Do I need to apply for it retrospectively?
Do I need planning permission to change the internal layout, move stud walls and make a doorway in a structural wall?
#3 Could be particularly cool (my flat wall vs my friends, though they had a door there already which they just widened without PP)
