great story! Whilst I'd be confident locking that up, that brooks is easy to pinch and sell. I put my front wheel cable through my brooks, but I used to run a length of chain from the frame to the rails in an old inner tube on a previous bike like this

Thanks for this. The previous owners did that for the boiler and don't think anything bad came of it. My only concern of doing it there is how close it would be to my neighbours' windows. At my dad's house, steam going out strips the white paint on the wall outside and if I did that to their windows I'd know about it. Only met them once and I think I can tell (when asking if someone could stand on their porch to work on the window 'You'll need scaffolding / I'll need to check'
Would be great if I could fit a minimum bathroom where the sink and toilet are now, but i think it's too tight. If that dividing wall could go and I could end the bathroom at the edge of the window, that'd be good.
Really stuck on kitchen/bathroom layout design

looking at bits for my singular peregrine which is on order. eying up some middleburn ro2s to run 2x and will run a grx rear mech. What bcd spider do i want to ensure i'll be able to easily get 30ish & 46ish t chainrings? They do 110, 94 and 130 bcd double road spiders or a 110/58 BCD one.
if I go 110 I can get these

cheersedit - do 9/10 speed chainrings work okay on 11s or do you definitely need 11s specific?

£2000 to have the stained glass window fixed. The outer window needs to be removed prior to him coming to do his bit. I think he wants whoever sorts/draught proofs my 5 other sash windows to do the frame it'll go into.
Looking at around £1600-2000 to have the original windows fixed up/draught proofed/ re-weighted/outer wood treated and painted.
Got a shop designing me a kitchen in the existing kitchen space to see.
Kitchen/bathroom is stuck. Think I'm going to get a builder in to take all the stud walls out so we can see what can be done.

cheers - will be a nice feature! I think it was @Howard who said he'd kill me if I got rid of it ...
That was never the plan, just hope it doesn't cost more than 2-3k to fix it. I await the quote with bated breathMight do a CP of the flat actually
