@BrickMan noted, cheers. Bought the wrong size engine air filter, but I am happy because it is relatively clean and hopefully indicates it has been looked after. I have no/little history for it.

Managed to get stuff to service the golf I introduced on here for £60 ish, saving me about £150 from going to a garage. Also found a tutorial on how to service my exact model on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmE2gFTaqmg
and got a Haynes manual -

thanks all! My room might be too small to do it but i have some time off and there is blue tac marks all over my wall on the desk side, so it definitely needs painting. Quick google/ yt suggests either spirit level or measuring up the wall at 15cm intervals to ensure its a straight line, and do start with the top part.
looked at a blue and then an olive main colour today but I think two dark colours would be too much. -

talking watches with Ben Clymer (2nd part - 1st part wasn't as good) -
@BrickMan noticed some more rust today when cleaning it, for example here on the O/S front wheel arch. Will research what I can do to treat it whilst I have time.
Going to try and do the filters and an oil change asap, found a kit for £50 on eBay.
My nan helped (did it all) to stitch up a rip in the seat today -
@inchpincher @ejay2.0 that's the one, cheers

@freddo cheers for the info. Looks so nice in this colourway (https://www.omegawatches.com/en-gb/watch-omega-speedmaster-automatic-date-st-175-0043) and I love the size so that's a shame about the movement :(

@ejay2.0 nice! Do you know the ref by any chance plz?

@TGR I was mildly inebriated! Hard to explain. Didn't expect to see this particular guy having it, but it was a birthday present. And I only thought it might be fake because of salience/reading all the discussions in here recently and it not looking like most speedmasters!

A friend had this on last night. Apologies for the blurry photo - I had had a few by this point.
He said it was from 1990 and was really proud of it, but following this recent chat and having never seen a speedmaster like it, I was skeptical. Anyway tried it on and it felt really nice, maybe 39mm ish. Chrono worked perfectly and it all looked lovely -
@el_presidente I agree. I rang then as you suggested, apparently no other advisories (advisories on the old one I mentioned were done by the previous owner) and the welding was done to the outside. Will send a picture of the welding when I pick it up tomorrow.
So no need to change the seals and it shouldn't happen again hopefully -
I agree with @freddo and appreciate the game theory reference.
Bastards. This was from 06
