Dilute some bleach (couple of capfuls) in the sink, soak socks in this for 20mins then wash in machine. I've also done this by pouring bleach into the detergent tray of the washing machine, but I did ruin some of mrs C's clothes using the direct injection to washing machine method so not 100% recommended.

Lovely 65 mile ramble through Essex villages and calling in at the caf in norton heath.
Only slightly marred by two motorists who felt compelled to take me to task for going early on the lights at waterworks corner. Apparently I am a f*cking w*nker who will get run over. Ok guys, the power of your argument is clearly overwhelming...
Ironically, I was waiting patiently at the next lights when this debate took place.

Well, they are kinda bendy to whatever shape. They are quite big for the advertised size; I've ordered some smaller ones. This is "16mm":

I should have some 13mm and 10mm arriving in the next couple of days, so if you are not in a hurry I can let you know how they work out.

I got mine from here - just ordered some more as turns out there are no mounting points for a rear 'guard on Charge Plug 0. Annoyed, as I thought it was just the drop out fixing point which was missing.

Apart from that, Wakefields on Lea Bridge Road (Bakers Arms) is a great place with loads of stuff in little trays and helpful staff.

These tyres were as supplied on my Charge Plug. I've swapped them for Kojaks so no longer required. Less than 200 miles on them; however for full disclosure, I rode over a load of drawing pins some tw*t had strewn all over Lea Navigation towpath at the weekend; 3 p**tures resulted but no significant damage to the tyres.
£5.00 the pair, super bargain comfy fat gum walls with moderate tread pattern.
Collection only from walthamstow evenings or Euston area during the day.

Advice I received was that Edwin 14oz red selvage will give a bit rather than shrink. I am 32" in Levi's, but tried on for example a pair of Replay in TK Maxx and 32" was way too small (did not buy!). My 32" Edwin Nashvilles have worn in quite nicely and are plenty comfortable now, even have a bit of room in the waist. I've not washed them yet.

Broke the cantilever off that Dynavector cartridge when I was dusting down the deck. Schoolboy error, WAC etc. Not my day today. Luckily it was 90% life expired so didn't really owe me anything.
@chrisbmx116; I've located a Linn K9 cartridge with plenty of life left. Will mount that onto the Akito if you want to hear what it sounds like.

Hi car people; I'm idly considering things which might replace my sensible / dull 2009 Passat.
Criteria are big, reliable, comfortable. In my semi old age I find it more tiring to drive all day (although only have to do this a couple of times a year, usually trips to Scotland or France) so looking to be cosseted a bit.
Neither of us commute by car so annual mileage is low; about 8k which is 50/50 round town and motorways.
Currently thinking of perhaps BM 535i or Merc E350. Would there be a significant difference in running costs? I'd look for a car under 5 years old and aim to keep it for at least 5 years.
