this shouldn't slow me as there are an abundance of compatible brakes which have enough vertical leeway to accommodate the 12.5mm jump
Off course! In my head I was comparing 26" to 700c adjustments. I looked into that once and I think the Bombshell V brake you are running on the Klein popped up as on the of brakes with the widest range of adjustment.
There are off course Paul Motolites but they are damn expensive. -
That one wasn't hard to guess I think :D
Conceptually this one has been in the pipeline for a long time. I got one of the first Secan 2.5 frames. But I didn't expect to be able to ride it due to breaking both my wrist in may so it slipped all the way to the bottom of my priority list. That gave me time to think about it and slowly gather parts. I am getting close to having all parts ready for this.

I love that panasonic! Looks really classy.
Re the Spezialized: I looked at Ronnies Bike too and I was wondering if that actually is a 650B setup. I don't think so tbh. The tyres in that colourway look like the 650 x 2.? MARS Race edition but the frame is for 26" wheels, there is no sign of moved brake bosses, the rims he is riding (Weinmann/Bontrager B2C src ) only exist in 26" afaik and those Paul cantis don't have enough adjustment to make up for the different rim sizes I suppose.
It seems like he is riding some old prototype of the 26" MARS tyre in a colourway not available to us "mortals" ;).All of that aside. I think the Specialized is going to be a sick bike. I would keep it as a 26" bike with some fat rubber. Moving brake bosses is not that simple on an aluminium frame I think.
P.S.: Rons bars are "available" now https://theradavist.com/2022/01/uncle-rons-orthopedic-back-bar-is-in-stock-now-at-crust-bikes/

I am going to "archive" this thread here in favour of my consolidated CP thread.
I will keep it open but any updates are going to happen here from now on. -
Wow, long time no update.
+Tom13 : The Kyote Bars are what I am running on my MTB. I love them but they aren't right for this build. I want something classy and sleek with a 25.4 clamp.
In the meantime, I actually got myself some Sim works Getaround bars but I didn't yet manage to install them.
There are going to be some more changes on the Raleigh and to this thread.
I realized it is about time to make this a consolidated CP thread rather than maintaining a thread per bike.
There are a few things in the pipeline for the next weeks and months and some things I tinkered with recently that I want to show you guys.In the backlog:
- A sick retro MTB I put together for my partner for Christmas
- My childhood 26" MTB setup now as SS at my parents for fun in the forest over Christmas
Coming up:
- My next gravel bike
- Custom decals and paintjob for the Raleigh
- Custom head badge for the Raleigh made by my sister who is a goldsmith
- Cockpit and front rack for the Raleigh
- A sick retro MTB I put together for my partner for Christmas

I actually like this a lot. I am not a fan of the top tube protector but tbh whether the bike snob hipster riding this bike is wearing his gravel casual flanel or wrapping it around the top tube doesn’t make that much of a difference I guess?
