I picked up a new toy. Excited to see how it turns out. I was always intrigued by the Pentax Auto 110 but was put off by the weird film format. I couldn't resist though when this camera popped up for sale on local classifieds as a complete set, 3 lenses, flash, motorised winder, decent price and two streets away. The film ordered from Lomography arrived today. I am going on a work trip to Budapest next week and will take this little guy with me.

And one more thing:
It's long overdue and originally I planned this to be a build like in the old days where you can follow the process and feed in. Because of a lot of travelling this year and separating from my partner and all that comes with it, I didn't really have the time and mindset to do any write-ups.Since I knew early on this year that I would have some trips coming up where I'd love to bring a bike I got very curious about folding and breakaway bikes. One of my friends and colleague at work built this really tasty Bike Friday All - Packa.
Very fun and rides really nicely but I felt like I wanted something more full size. With huge interest, I followed Godfather @Hulsroys CP thread and his work on the two breakaway Specialized AWOL frames.
I used to own an AWOL before, back in 2018(?) and I gotta say I didn't like it at all. It felt very dead and boring to me and I also initially didn't like the look of it. Proportions on a large AWOL to fit me seemed off. Not visually pleasing and I passed it on to @Shl.
Originally coming from fixed-gear and road bikes with drop bars and thin tyres it took me some time to realise I just did it wrong. What my AWOL would have needed was bigger tyres and flat bars. Just like this brilliant build by @larsenroad.
Sooooo when Mads offered one of the breakaway AWOL frames for sale I jumped at it with the aim of building up as a travel ATB and take with me to Spain and America earlier this year. Mads threw in three of his sexy bottle cages and, most importantly, what was back then a Nalgene prototype and we sealed the deal.
Due to shipping delays with parts and GLS being the absolute fucking worst here in Vienna all that didn't happen in time and I rode borrowed or rented bikes.
With Brother in the Wild coming up in May I was determined to get the bike rolling though.
Inunintentionally resuming a tradition of bringing a different bike every year.
In order to make it happen I had to borrow some parts from my Inbred but hey it was a bike and a beautiful one.TLDR: I now own Hulsroys Rinko AWOL and it slaps. See photos below.

Hello, long time no see. I finally managed to install the rear dynamo light on the Marin. In the end, I went with the DI2 sticky guide instead of drilling any holes and I think it's reasonably clean. If you don't know its not super obvious. Really love this bike. It is mostly used for commuting and cruising. I have enough offroad-capable bikes so I am happy to keep this as a city warrior for now.
After months of burning sun here in Vienna, we currently have a cold weather front for a few days and it's really wet and cold. So next up are mudguards to round it all up. I might get to it even this weekend. -

Haha, okay maybe more like:
Well worth the money * if you are in the market for premium cable-actuated disc brakes. With hydros there is so much choice but with mechanical disk brakes I feel like there is a real lack of a decent middle field in terms of cost and quality. There are the BBs and Spyres, then some hybrids then a big gap and then we have Growtacs and Paul Klampers.
You can definitely get cheaper hydros that will perform better. But I wanted the simplicity of mechanical brakes on a bike that is mainly used for travelling and needs easy disassembly to fit in a tiny bag. Also looks. Hydro levers are bulky and their cables are always in the way of handlebar bags and rolls.
Also for a disclaimer I am currently based in Austria and (used) Klampers coming up for sale here is like spotting a Unicorn.

Coming in late to the brake chat but I treated myself to some growtacs after I struggled to get Klampers at a reasonable price tag. I am using them with Paul levers and they are amazing. Best mechanical disc brakes I ever had (compared to Spyres and Juintech hybrids).
Comparing prices to Klampers you should also consider that the growtac come with really nice compressionless housing in the box. It might even be that housing that makes them feel really nice. I am usually using Jagwire compressionless housing which is so stiff that brakes sometimes feel very on/off binary. Paul even advice against compressionless housing with Klampers for that reason. The growtac housing interesingly has both, the traditional spiral around the housing but also the metal strands along the housing. Maybe its a bit more "compliant" that way?Anyways TLDR : Growtacs well worth their money in my opinion. Good power, nice feathering, great looks, less chunky than Klampers.

Should be possible clearance wise I think,
Are you sure? 2.8" is quite big. My 29er inbred only clears 2.25 in the rear.
EDIT: I got curious and utilised the way back machine. I am not sure if this is the exact frame you have. This is about the 2005 geared 26" inbred:
For that reason, it has HUGE tyre clearance. We've fitted up to 2.7in tyres with clearance. That's good.

Sometimes you are wondering what is going on in people's heads.
Some suggestions:
- Can I make a bike that looks pre-crashed? Like ripped jeans but as a bike?
- Can I artificially raise the stand-over height of my bike, so I can be sure to bash my nutsack in without altering the rest of the bike's geometry?
- How can I fuck with the guy who is supposed to make a custom frame bag for my bike? Gosh, I hate that dude.

Agree with a lot of these comments. There are so many harder moral decisions. This is such an easy one. There are loads of great alternatives.
Putting £80 (or £800 or £8000) in Hambini's pocket isn't going to change the world.
I don't even want to support his morning coffee.
P.S.: thanks @Retro_Bastard for the info on Mike Ashley and Hope!

Love the ferry shot @mi7rennie 🙌
On another note: I picked up yet another camera on the flea market. After some inspection and cleaning it seemed to be alright. I did the regular hacking and bodging to make a modern battery work with it. Currently shooting a cheap Kentmere 400 test roll.
Now to my actual question: This camera still had a banned mercury battery installed. Empty and luckily undamaged but how do I dispose of it properly?
P.S.: Pardon my dirty desk mat. I cleaned it afterwards.

@salad I had some really nice results on the Kentmere 400. I feel like they came out "harder" than some of the photos others posted on here. Had them developed and didn't ask for anything specific.
These are from moody New York in January, shot on a Rollei 35.
That's a 18mm lens but I also have a 24 and 50mm lens. All f2.8. Not sure how that translates as the film is smaller but it covers quite a range. The camera has manual focus and auto exposure and its an actual SLR looking through the lens.
