Which sub 100€ track/SS cranksets, if any, are tester approved? Tempted by the RD2 messengers https://www.bike-mailorder.de/sugino-rd2-messenger-kurbelgarnitur-schwarz?number=029892002531&gclid=Cj0KEQjwpZO_BRDym6K_nMye7cEBEiQAVA7RaJ-TSDu7hQmnJuquBHyEmVOnslUZzrkmu4gjmPnrR-oaAojH8P8HAQ Are they any good?

Frame sold acc to @Kobe 's pedalroom

True, it'll probably look like I stole it from some little girl. Or like @t0-ster 's principia (no offense I actually kinda like it ...). Makes for a weird kind of symmetry with the forks :D
-
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, you're probably right. Judging from the fact that the crack developed on the top side of the chainstay I reckon that it was caused by braking/skidding so I've only used it in crusining mode lately which isn't as much fun anyway... I really like the original paint as it has faded in some spots while still being shiny. New paintjob is not an option!

Is it a stupid idea for someone who normally rides 55-57 to get a 50cm track frame to set it up as a beater/replacement bike while his other bike is getting repaired by a framebuilder? I could get an old gitane for cheap moniez, TT is 52 cm and I'm tryin to convince myself that it might just work with a long seatpost & stem + risers. Not sure if desperate or opportunistic tho...

Cheers! I'll probbly get it repaired, just not sure what do with it after the repair since the chainstay will be bare metal. Also I can't get myself to send it to the framebuilder right now, since I got some other stuff to do atm and I also want to enjoy it for a couple more days/weeks before I'll have to go fixed gear cold turkey...

Fitted the Michelin Classics. I also temporarily fitted the campag crankset so I can work on the TA cranks and polish them up. Made a TT protector out of brooks bartape and shimmed the seatpost cause it slipped and wouldn't stay at the correct height. I'm still bummed out about the crack in the chainstay tho :(
Nah, the forks are just turned by 180° and the cockpit is mounted incorrectly...
