used to order stuff from Rollersnakes in the 90s over the phone
I got an STM complete from them when I first got in to skating 'properly' rather than just cruising around. I remember it being pretty decent. Although in retrospect, the Planet Earth board with pink Kryptonics Slammer wheels I had before was pretty nice, just totally unfashionable by then :-)

Ah yes, I forgot there was a thread for this!
I have a feeling it’s small enough to be fine. I don’t have huge expenses so my ratios are fine in that respect.
@andyfallsoff I think the main thing that makes me unsure is that DJing is only a tiny part of my income, and I’d pretty much be spending as much on records as I’d be making from them.

Freelancey tax question:
I'm a freelance designer. I also do the odd bit of Djing here and there. The places I DJ at require me to invoice them, which im doing through my usual invoice system, for convenience. It's not that much per month and I can't see it making much of a difference to my tax bill, but I did wonder if I could be cheeky and count records as a work expense. Should I ideally be separating these two lines of work if I wanted to do that (not worth it) or can I get away with it? -

Ha! It's a card-based game. I didn't actually make up the mechanics of the game - that already existed. What ive done is to sort of transpose the game mechanics on to a completely new setting.
I've just sent it to print this morning, but I think it might take about a month to get back to me apparently

I’ve had this project that I’ve been tinkering with for ages - I’ve actually found myself fairly close to finishing it! My wife’s away for work this week so I’ve decided to spend post kids bedtime evenings getting stuck in to the remaining illustrations I need to have this finished. Then I’ll send it to the printers before I decide I want to faff around with anything or re-do any drawings!
Basically I’ve re-themed the card game ‘Machi Koru’ from the ground up. The original game is a sort of sim city style, manage resources to build a city. My version has you stranded on a strange island with mysterious monoliths and stuff.

I've got a few bits of 60s/70s Taiwanese, Indonesian and Malaysian stuff that I want to play out, but all seem to have the following in common: a given LP will have several utter heat rocks on it, but when the vocals kick in, they all drop the instrumentation lower in the mix. It means when played out, its veeerrry vocal heavy and kind of doesn't work. Which is a shame, due to aforementioned otherwise heat rock status.
This Qing Shan track is a good example

Other than being be-rashed, my daughter is completely fine, which is slightly annoying! I’d just feel really shitty if she developed a temp while I was out or something like that. Dog fine too - other than being an idiot.
