I think (and this is what is referred to as man-guessing) that as long as the child is old enough to handle the shock (have you considered attaching a hamax kiss or similar instead of stroller seat? My thinking is that it flexes noticably) the real danger is collision and then my 2-cents is that there's always going to be a risk with kids in traffic. The biggest way to minimize the risk is where and how you cycle (also good brakes).

What I'm trying to say is that I think that it looks good, and maybe there's a way to add like buggy kind of detachable steel canopy to lessen anxiety?

Should I sell my Kona Dr dew with 3x9 gearing, disc brakes and guards and instead buy an eighties Rockhopper single speed/fixed with an extra set of studded tires (I live in Sweden)? This will be used for a 10k commute and mowing kids around in a child seat. I'm worried that this is some kind of pre 40-crisis, i.e. substituting something practical for something shiny and more on trend.

I love the lugs and paintwork. They're in-house/signature?

Used Phil's on my Singular Swift for one year of commuting, with practically no maintenance. It was heavy but basically set and forget and good quality.
I personally prefer compared to my experience with sliding dropouts, which I had to re-tighten quite often
