I've got a fake 'nag steel frame. It's actually really nice - light, campag dropouts and half decent decals that seem to fool everyone.. I bought it from guy who had put a lot of nice components on it (Campag / EddyM chainset, DuraAce post etc), and I've taken good care of it. Here's a pic of it built up, and I'll send a few more if you want.. Let me know if you're interested.

Just got an Alpkit Jarran 2 man, and took it on a 7 day ride from London to Copenhagen. It's huge inside a vestibule on either side, so we store our stuff v easily. Loads of room to comfortably sleep 2, and more than enough space to sit up, get changed, play cards.. I even think sleeping 3 would be fine, maybe not multiple nights though (am testing it out with 3 in a week or so).
Luckily it only rained once, but it rained hard - tent was really waterproof, and v breathable in the thunderstorm. We did wake up one morning with about 15 wasps between the inner and fly, but I don't think that was the tent's fault..
Pretty lightweight - 1.8kg I think. We split the pole/pegs and the inner/fly between 2. I carried the inner/fly in my carradice saddle bag, but also stuffs down really well, so could put at the bottom of my pannier. Kinda looked a little like a Tesco festival tent next to the Superlite Voyager, but couldn't really fault it other than that.
And now it's on sale for £50 less than I got it for... Damn. https://www.alpkit.com/products/jaran-2

I'm after a cheap set of panniers to complete the set up of the bike I was looking for below (and have now purchased..). Not looking for anything too special - just a v basic pair that my mum can use on a 3 day trip in Scotland to carry food/clothes/sleeping bag. I don't really want to spend any more than £15 or so on these, as she wont use them very often at all.
BOUGHT NOW, THANKS I'm looking for a second hand road bike / light hybrid for my mum, who is seriously due an upgrade from the Boris Bike-style tank she's been riding around. Looking for something with sti shifters, light ish with decent components that I wont have to replace after a few months.. To suit 5'6 / 5'7 rider. Flat bars would be nice.. Budget £250/300.
