Seems like a few more brands are making "track" frames with bigger tyre clearance, mudguard mounts etc, although they haven't actually mentioned what the clearance is. Brother allday another one. Rarely anything better than 4130 though

Looking at the classic, reynolds 725, clearance for 32s, mudguard eyelets, TIG welded and very light, 2.5kgs inc headset! Ticks a lot of boxes.

Only problem is they don't have UK distributors but they will post to UK for $85.

I'm sure this has probably been covered somewhere on this forum at some point but what are the considerations to take into account when getting disc mounts welded on a steel fork?

And could anyone recommend somewhere to get this done in London?

Or is it going to be easier to just buy a surly fork with disc mounts on it already?

Interesting study and also makes me feel better about my daily commute, I was actually worried about the amount of pollution I was inhaling to and from work every day although I'm still concerned about it. Hopefully further encouragement for more to cycle.

Im thinking about buying that ribble 725, seems a fairly decent do it (mostly) all. Possibly not too heavy either with a few upgrades, 2.7kg f+f... Looks pretty nice too I think, the AL looks weird
