Despite my intentions not to be it is of course a glib suggestion as the logistics of actually doing that would be stressful enough in itself. Who do you let people know you’re willing to do that? How do you fairly choose? etc etc
I got a bursary from a rich dude who went to my school when I was at uni. £100 in the first year, £300 in the second and £1k in the final year. Administered by the school board, given to ten students I think. Made a big difference to my time at uni.

I do not wish to sound glib or facetious at all, but if you can afford to throw £50k at something just to scratch an itch that you don’t technically need to scratch, you could think about sponsoring someone who needs it but can’t afford it. No extra demands on your job and you’ll probably feel way better than doing it yourself if there’s no career benefit to you. I’m an associate lecturer and it terrifies me that the students I work with are spending that amount over three years when it’s clear that a big percentage of them probably won’t go on to get well paid jobs in that field because they simply don’t give enough of a fuck about the field, by the time they graduate at least.

I just spoke to a design student who was struggling to find existing photography books that have a chaotic feel. Everything she has found so far have been quite minimal and clean. Can any of the heads in here suggest any names to look out for? Not so much punk zines, just something that’s off grid, layered, textured perhaps

My father in law buys all those flavoured tins of punk piss. Fit for nowhere but the drain. There’s a peach one that I would bet my house on that it’s just carlsberg with peach squash thrown in
