I'm looking for a rear hub with cup and cone bearings, preferably high flange and with 36 holes. Eagle-eyed readers will have noticed that I previously stated a preference for 40h, but I've changed my mind because of rim availability. Spacing is (relatively) unimportant because I'm happy to cold set my frame. Any sort of reasonable condition is fine, age is not an issue. And thereafter a 700c rim with a corresponding number of holes, not bent. Hub is the first priority.
Looking to pay £15-20 for each, but unless I get a hub I won't be getting the rim.

My favourite bits are the grimaces he does while flailing around like he's being possessed by a particularly virulent demon.
PS. Have read some of the posts on STW (OK, I'll be honest. I read the first 4 pages and then skipped to the last two... jeez, 36 pages. You're really milking it :P ) and you are the epitome of Big Ring Attitude.

At least it's a rare one, you wouldn't want any of these common cancers. And cancer's a fairly good defence against internet cuntism... See, that's looking on the bright side :) Oh, I fail at this.
In all seriousness, it's brave of you (you're Mark, right? You're username's confusing) to be looking at it this way. Positive mental attitude's the reason why some people survive stuff other's don't, and you've obviously got a shedload if you're doing JOGLE. At least you've got the incentive of fleeing the Scots that way - best of luck!
All I can do really is give you the link to the funniest thing I've seen in a while - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItZyaOlrb7E&feature=youtube_gdata

I've got Wellgo DMR knockoffs with resin clips and nylon straps hacked onto them at the moment. It would work fine if the bearings in the pedals weren't awful, but I wear DMs permanently and they are just right. By tomorrow, though, they should have home-made velcro straps, which should be as good as it gets without changing my shoes.

I'm looking for a pair of standard thread pedals with clips and straps.
Any working condition is acceptable.
I don't want resin pedals, but resin clips are fine.
Easily servicable bearings would be a huge benefit (the reason I'm looking for them in the first place is that I've got fed up with drilling the dustcaps on my Wellgo pedals to grease the rubbish bearings).
Looking to spend no more than about £7 ideally, posted to Bournemouth.Ben

I think those are tabs designed to stop front wheels falling out if the bolts are loosened accidentally (can happen with disc brakes, 'parrently). I don't know if you could use them to mount the wheel lower; can't picture it. If you go to your LBS, they'll probably have some and you could at least give it a go.

Does anyone have a pair of Presta valve tubes (26" x 1 1/8") that they'd be willing to swap for the same with Schrader valves? 1" should do fine as well.
Bought some tyres off a forum member; forgot to check the valves on the tubes. Turns out they're Schraders which is fine apart from the fact that my only Schrader pump haemorrhages air at about 60psi and I don't think I'll be able to stamp fast enough to get 100-120 in them.

Be careful with the crank extractor; it's easy to bugger the threads (aluminium, very shallow threads). A good dousing with WD40 followed by 2 litres of boiling water poured slowly over helped me get off a stuck crank by hitting it with a hammer. Obviously, this isn't a good idea if you want to reuse the cranks.
Bear in mind that (by the looks of it; I've been wrong before) your chainset is riveted. You can remove chainrings by cutting them off if you really want to, but that will probably weaken the whole thing; not a good idea if you're riding fixed. To be honest, you might be better off getting down your LBS and seeing if they've got any cranks with removable rings lying around you can have for cheap. -
Raleigh also make some 'Trekking Comfort Handlebars'; similar to the North Rounders but smaller bends. Comparison photo here (scroll down) http://forum.ctc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=29591

PS - just to clear up any potential confusion, I'm not looking for a freebie :) I don't really want to spend more than £10 on the sprocket. For that I can get a pretty low end Gusset or suspiciously unbranded one new, but if I could get a nicer one used that would be better. I'll leave this thread for a few days more then give up.
Nah, Castlepoint's fun when it's empty. Maybe not your cup of tea but not hell on earth, that's the Sovereign Centre. Or Poole.
Sooner or later I'll manage one of these long rides, but (in ascending order of importance) a) I've been busy for the last few months (but now am freeee), b) I thought I had notifications turned on for this thread but obviously didn't, so I only find out about this stuff too late, c) I'm deeply afraid that you'll all have calves the size of my thighs looking like walnuts stuffed into a pair of tights and I'll be left behind hyperventilating in a ditch by the side of the road.
But now I've got the notifications fixed I'll keep an eye out, HTFU* and come have a go :)
