Latest update re VAT rates and flat rate schemes.
**Flat Rate Scheme
**The Flat Rate Scheme percentages are to be changed with effect from 1 December so that anyone on the scheme should not be disadvantaged. More details are available on HMRC's website in its press release.
Because the FRS percentage takes account of input VAT as well as output VAT the percentages will not be reduce by the full 2.5%. -
-
Problem is that the new rates come in on 1 December, so even if traders want to pass on the savings, their software will not be up to speed in time, and all sorts of accounting aggro will follow. One bit of good news is that the tax authorities have been told to take whatever is offered on tax arrears. Worth knowing if you are self employed, and the recent downturn has given you major tax headaches.

Great to see such an uplifting thread.
When dropping my daugher off at school in the car, saw a hassled mum trying to get her tribe across the road, including 4 year old son, on his brand new birthday bike. I waved them across the road, as junior gingerly wobbled away in front of me. Just as he got to the opposite kerb, he hops, yes, hops the bike onto the pavement, and when I belly laughed at his skill, he gave me a cheeky grin and a thumbs up!
Our Olympic track future is safe; do early learning centre do SPuD pedals for the "Action Man" single speed?
Despite Henry's horrible incident at the end, a mind blowing ride. Well done to the crew at the crash for staying so cool. Just standing there, silent, around our fallen comrade, really did prevent things getting really ugly with the Police. Most of the officers, were far from impressed with the offending drivers conduct, and went out of their way to diffuse the situation.
I took plenty of pictures, and will get them on a CD and over to someone whose computer skills will do them justice. Maybe South Drinks on Monday, if there are any design gurus around?
On a positive note, Pajamas, you are an inspiration. A wonderful ride, painstakingly thought through with so many surprises, and original twists and turns. How that rep has gone, I am writing to Mr. G Brown, asking that you are added to the New Years honours list, and given the OBE.......
