Thanks. I have proper grease but can't get it in there so thought the liquid stuff is my best bet.
Are these tutorials any good?

It it merely a normal ATB brake lever.
Probably true. That's what I thought as well - lever is lever. But I need one that fits my bullhorns which have a 23.8mm grip area diameter (as Sheldon Brown tells me, from beyond the grave), not 22.2mm. I know it sounds silly but I bought a pair without caring too much about diameter (the above pictured from chainreactions, advertised as "road") but they wont go over my bar.

Hi,
My friend shagged his old chainring (probably 42T) so I bought him a new one (43T). He managed to fit the new ring but he can't get the chain back on.
I showed him how to use a chain tool and told him to take out/put in a few chain elements. He tried it but says that it is either so tight he can't get it back on the ring or so slack it's hitting against the frame all the time and comes off constantly.
Is that possible? Or is he doing it wrong?
Cheers

Hi,
Everytime I want to look something up that is talked about in this forum I scramble together information from various sites. Sheldon Brown has a lot but the look of the site is really dated.
Wouldn't it be cool to have one really comprehensive modern wiki that has everything you need to know about bike fixing and building (not just FG and SS)?
Does anyone know about a really good wiki or encylopedia? I googled around but the results haven't been promising. I'm thinking about putting up a site myself and I am wondering if I should rather put my energy into an existing project.
Cheers

I need to help someone out whose chainring bolt came (?) off and he bent his chainring out of shape. He wants to replace it but he (and I) need help choosing/finding a new chainring. He has got a converted singlespeed but couldn't tell me the make of the crank, only that his chainring has five bolts.
Is there one size for all single speed cranks? Or will we have to pay attention to the bolt circle diameter? I read up on Sheldon Brown but wasn't quite sure what I need.
http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gloss_bo-z.html#bcdFinally, is there anyone who can sell a chainring and bolts cheapish?

Okay, thanks for all the advice.
Shinscar, I think my chainline is "good enough" but maybe off by 1 mm or 2. Yes, I do have problems with the chain coming off relatively often.
I thought, though, that I will solve this at a later stage. I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. Maybe that isn't a good idea?
If I came to the East End beers (if that is still happening) would any of you mind giving me an opinion on the whole issue. I mean whether it is the freewheel, bearings or the chainline.
