As a hydraulic service technician, I'd say that since Magura uses oil, there's no reason why those nifty little quick couplers wouldn't work in a Shimano system, except compatibility with the hose dimensions might be a headache.

Tell you what though, that's bound to catch on... And shops could upsell them with a service given they'd make future servicing cheaper.

I got some CNC ally pulleys last century, won't do that again - noisy.

yawn I've played knifey-spooney before, you know. Use a tape that has a stiffer or less elastic outer layer than the foam underneath, wrap it tight and you won't get edge curling.

Been going top down for 25+ years, reckon I could even wrap most plain foam tapes tight enough not to curl.

If it's good tape and you wrap it tight, you can go any direction you like, even top down like I always do, since no finishing tape = win
