The court is rough so you'd sweep the frost into the low spots.

Bringing a stiff broom would help if there's a touch of frost. I've helped with many a concrete skatepark bowl 'prepping' and spreading the water/frost out nice and thin helps it dry much quicker.

You're probably right yeah, I was thinking more wind means it's colder but wind chill probably has nothing to do with actual temperature, just feels colder.

Met Office says -1 Saturday night, so frost would only be slight wouldn't it? Probably melt away in the early morning as there's absolutely no wind forecast

If we had some polo goals, which I think were being discussed in another thread do you think it would be feasible to have the polo part of the pololleycat in town, in a carpark maybe? If the carpark had walls around it we could put the goal in the corner and the ball wouldn't 'run off' too far.

I'd be well up for a few city races, maybe around a 1 mile circuit just inside the A roads that surrounds the centre of the city. How about relays with a few teams, maybe 3 per team and at the transitions you have to score against one/some of the people waiting for their teammates to finish their lap.

Or, alternatvely, who would be up for meeting some other day in the week (not Wed or Sun)? Fridays are good for me. Seems like a better idea as it means we are less limited to the pubs we can go to by low, polo gearing.

Good games today, my legs feel like jelly.

Do you guys ever do polo beers? i.e. drinks after polo on wednesday, or pub lunch on Sundays as we finish about lunch time. I've played quite a few times but it seems like I only half-know people.

There is a court similar to the one in highgate by Ackers, you can see it from the canal. I'll have a nose about on the net and see if if i can find out if it belongs to them.

Yeah go with the Aston noticeboard, the ones at UoB that aren't 'policed' get abused (someone will post up right over the top very quickly).

I read somewhere that you went to some of the freshers events at Birmingham Uni to try and get some people from there interested. I've been seeing a lot of nice road bikes and fixed gears chained up while I've been parking my bike so could it be worth hitting them with flyers? Preferrably if the owner is with the bike.

Well annoyed I couldn't try out my new bike today. I'll be there next Sunday if it goes ahead.

Discovered this Google Maps Distance Calculator earlier, thought some of you might be interested. I used it to see if a ride from Selly Oak to Star City to play Laserquest was do-able, turns out it's a 12 mile round trip. Further than I thought.

That minidrome looks well fun, surely a bit like a shit mini ramp after a while though!
