I'm after an 8-speed cassette hub, 36h, preferably Chorus or Record, and in presentable condition - if you've got one to sell, sell it to me please!
Must be 36h as I've got 36h rims and can't go about buying new ones.
Not really after a pair, but if that makes it a possibility, then I'll buy the pair. -

You can get through the tunnel, but not by bike. From the CTC website:
**Mont Blanc Tunnel **(recently reopened (March 2002) to cars only – lorries still banned) Local bus Chamonix - Courmayeur - Aoste will take cyclists and bikes through the tunnel (bikes travel for half adult fare).
Bus runs between Chamonix railway station and Aoste twice a day (except Sundays and fete days).
Further details from tourist offices. Otherwise, perhaps an obliging motorist will transport you and bicycle through. -

Although different studies appear to arrive at different conclusions, and although gormless fuckwits keep coming on here and telling other people what they should and should not do, the whole 'helmet debate' is a load of absolute bollocks.
All it achieves is further animosity towards cyclists, a minority road using groups who are relatively harmless, whilst completely ignoring the multitude of deaths caused by dangerous motor vehicle driving, especially because motor-vehicle drivers do not wear helmets.
Ignoring head injuries to cyclists may be folly, but the 'helmet debate' is simply another proxy method of diverting attention away from the main issue which ought to be discussed, which is the huge burden to society both in health and financial terms, of careless and dangerous motor-vehicle drivers. -

I love that my new road frame has geometry identical to that of my track frame - i.e. a high BB and short wheelbase.
They are by the same manufacturer so it's not entirely surprising, but it's great, cos my track frame is perfect for me.
I'm not so in love with the vomit-inducing paint job, but can't have everything. -

I suppose someone with the know-how could make a database around quantitative not qualitative info - basically a chainline calculator.
You put in your BB dimensions, chainset type, gauge, hub type, rear spacing and cog type, and then you get either a big green tick or a big red cross as the output.
Or if you need to choose a component, you'd put in what you have got, and the database would tell you what choices you can make from there.Fucked if I'd know how to do that.

....when you ask a company for a quote, politely giving them as much information as possible, and taking time to make sure that you've covered any points they have highlighted in their quotation requirements.
Then the stupid fuckwits quote you for none of the things you asked for, ignoring most of your details, just quoting you for something they're assuming you want, 'cos they think they know better.
If they can't even get that bit right, why would I think they're going to do the job properly? Fucking timewasters. -

i totally agree with horatio, after having loads of bb length strife.
IMO bb length is absolutley crucial, loads of people just put "shimano bb" etc. when shimano bb axle lengths range from 107 to 122.5! the same can be applied to campagnolo, phil wood or stronglight etc.basically i think that bb length is the object of the the transmission database :-) and its a real shame its not included more often..
That's what I meant

OK mobidog, I've just sent you a PM.
Suppose it'd be more useful if my location didn't come up as 'fuck', but there you go...
