I've just sent an email to Velocio saying I think Wednesday would be much better.
On Tuesday most lobbyists/campaigner types will still be at the Lib Dem party conference in Bournemouth (I'm running a fringe event on Tuesday night) and by Wednesday night we'd be back.
Wouldn't mention it but these are presumably the type of people whose skills could be useful for this sort of thing.
I can do Weds

Really freaked by this, this is a couple of hundred yards from me, I saw the aftermath of yesterdays death on the way to work and on Monday I gave 1st aid to a dying pedestrian on Oxford st.
I want it to be safer out there...

Can't be there on Tues at that time, would like to be involved, please post the conclusions/actions.
I have it in my mind that the total London cycle deaths this year are 11 of which 9 have been as the result of collision with lorries.
I want to be part of trying to change this.
Digger (cycle instructor) -
I went past at 9am, police confirmed female, didn't confirm death at that stage, the bike was still under the truck, the helmet (seemingly undamaged) and bag (cut off) with medical detritus, syringes blood etc were still in evidence, form position of bike it looked to me as if she had been run over from behind, didn't look as if it could have been a cyclist to the left in blind spot incident.
RIP
Can we do something with roadpeace?

Having spent a fair while posting on and reading cycling and football messageboards I find this place relatively enlightened. The glossy photo shite is one thing; what I find infinitely more off-putting is the continual unthinking reiteration of the assumption that cycling is mainly for men, and that the posts are written for and by men. This is usually entirely innocently done; it's so entrenched as to not even need any malice aforethought. That we need special sparkly clothing, or special pink bikes, or that forum members should be 'getting their girlfriends into cycling', as if we were recalcitrant horses being trained to juggle.
"recalcitrant horses being trained to juggle" I laughed out loud explosively, is it yours? I can't wait for that golden feed that will allow me to slip it into a convo...
Thank you. -

I really want people to be aware that Weds death was not caused by an HGV, but a 7.5 ton truck, driven on a normal car licence...
