I've just acquired a new titanium frame- after my Planet X destroyed itself - handmade in the States, and the frame says it was made by Saratoga Frameworks, and is a sample (the serial number is PXS A0006).
When Saratoga went bust, half the team went to #22 Bicycles. My bike is extremely similar to the Great Divide they make, down to the braze-ons for the gear cables. I've had it confirmed from Mike - one of the owners there - that Saratoga made 10 road, and 10 Sportive bikes for PX. They're straight gauge, rather than butted, but it does have a replaceable hanger interestingly.
There are no decals on the bike apart from the "made by Saratoga label". There's no head tube sticker, and the planet x on the downtube is anodized.
I guess the point of this rather rambling post is - does anyone have a clue what it's worth?? Need to update the insurance. Obviously Serottas went for mega bucks, and the #22 F&F is a fair whack. This however is a planet x, with straight gauging etc etc. So worth less. But how much?
