I've done it. Just chucked it in with the luggage. Another traveller had more significant anxiety (carbon road bike) but went for it in the end. Of course, the coach driver failed to shut the doors properly and everyone's suitcases flew down the street. Loaded up and set off again. Carbon road bike guy was dying for the entire duration of the trip.

Sounds wonderful! "Very flat" pleases me. Going to pitch Estonia as part of the next cycle tour.

Kudos for swimming in the sea in April.

I just bought one today. It’s very tiny - going to repot once I find a suitable container and see if it spreads. Doesn’t look like it could take on even an aphid at the moment.

Police have openly said to several victims that they won't be pursuing it. Budget cuts and all that.

There have been several incidents now between Hackney Wick and Tottenham Lock. Same MO - three young guys, on bikes, with knives. Police are aware but have said there's nothing doing. Think twice about cycling that stretch after dark!

Look to be too slide-y. I have worn my kendas down to a totally smooth tread over the course of 6 months or so. These look like they will get trashed in no time.

Thank you for the recommendations, though - I do appreciate it!!

I love it. If I had money to throw away, I'd throw it at this.

A pretty even mix of road and off road. Not really much mud (or if there is, it's the thin, watery kind, not the claggy CX kind), more stones/shingle/dust. I will sacrifice speed for grip. I should just get the kendas - I always regret change.

I need 32-35c tyres with good grip, ideally <£50 for a pair. I have no tyre expertise and am drowning in tabs. Have previously just bought kenda small block 8s at regular intervals, but wondering if there are better alternatives? Pls help.

I ran over an enormous rat on the towpath in Enfield a few weeks ago. Big bump, but rat appeared unbothered by the impact.

Also, there is a heron that all but lives on the towpath in tottenham. The people living in the most proximal flat feed it scraps, and have named it Percy.
