My hubs for some all silver, used or factory built touring wheels is becoming too difficult so think I will go down the handbill root.

Anybody used these rims? They will be the 32h version. Will they be as bombproof as the a719 rim I have previously ran. Also, what price am I typically looking to pay for spokes / nipples / labour at lbs for two wheels to be built?

After lusting over those riv step thrus but with no money in the bank I have bought this beautiful french bicycle. It is all original with lovely mafac brakes. Top tube is long enough for me, hopefully the seat post will give up and let loose in a short time. i will use an old stem and sand down from 22.2 to 22.0, throw on these bars, 38mm tyres and I will be good to go. The chain guards is so so beautiful .
Edit : bars fitted in stem okay. Can’t turn in a tight circle without bashing my knee but for a light commute it’ll be just fine, my old Dutch bike in NL was the same. I think I’m going to buy some modern silver levers so I can set up the brakes nice and tight as well as new pads. I’m too lazy to make incremental changes with a spanner at the brake end. Cable outer will be bright and colourful, maybe I’ll add a wald. The rear rack is really solid. I don’t want to put a crate on it but I might make a tasteful sheet maybe perforated deck of some kind to extend the width of it, or I’ll leave it as is. Also seatpost could do with being longer but not bad so far for a £36 bike. I think the nitto bars cost more.
Is stem 1 1/8 quill ?
