I’m 100% with you on the Holt.. just waiting for a S or M frame to come up second hand! Even if I had £3500 spare, the wait for a new one is post-ht550..

I’m looking for a hardtail capable of tacklkny the HT in May, and am overwhelmed by choice. asking on a forum like this will no doubt overwhelm the options further, but here we go.. I’m looking out for a few models second hand - any thing else you’d add to this list?

    • Fairlight Holt (I love my Secan, so this’d be my preferred option)
    • Sonder Broken Road Ti/Signal Ti (several pals have raced the HT on these frames, so also high on the list. Are there any similar frames out there - ie I know there’s a lot of similarity with Planet X/sonder in terms of geometry)
    • Specialized Chisel (again, pals have raced on ‘em, but prefer the idea of a steel/ti frame for rigidity)
    • mason raw (again, dreamy bike, but absolutely out of budget - anything similar)

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but I’m looking for a hardtail capable of taking on the Highland Trail 550 in May, and am overwhelmed by choice. asking on a forum like this will no doubt overwhelm the options further, but here we go.. Much appreciated! That’s what I was hoping the top one was. Looking forward to working it out.

They came with a Singer (and are all singer branded) - is Pfaff linked to singer in some way?

Anyone got a premium discount code? My subscription expired a few weeks ago and I was hoping they'd send me a discount to entice me back in, but nothing yet...

My set up for 4 days in Scotland this coming weekend (Inverness>Corrour via torridon) - a chance to test my first attempt at sewing a frame bag… staying in hostels each night so I’m packing light, but feels weird carrying so little! Would really like a fork with mounts for cages, but having to make do with a bottle in a stem pouch for now.

Recently picked up sewing. I’m usinf an old Singer 611G which was recently serviced (bought at auction, and hadn’t been used it 20+ years).

I am getting this tensioning issue no matter what fabric I’m sewing into, and regardless of whether I set the tension high or low (pic is Cordura, for reference). I’m beginning to wonder if this is a something I can solve by fiddling with tension, or if there’s something wrong with the machine… the other thing to add is that when I go mega slow, I don’t get the issue, but when I press the pedal at a normal pace, it happens (the take up lever jerks and doesn’t run smoothly). any tips much appreciated.
