Came with swappable end caps although not a QR one despite coming with an actual skewer.

Oh? Spj7´s photos (link above) seem to show three sets of caps, including QR ones, as well as a skewer. So yours came with only 12 and 15 mm ones then? Weird.

It seems that hub (KT JH-KD5F) also goes by the name Contec Powerhouse 2+ Pretty steep though at 150 euros but swappable end caps is a plus I suppose, and comes in 28 hole as well.

Not bad. Shame Evans charge 20 quid to send a wheel across the Channel.

For those of us who like to build, the DH-UR705-3D has been available for quite a while now for 100 euros. According to Igaro it spins about as well as a Delux. High praise indeed: https://www.facebook.com/igarouk/posts/shimano-say-their-new-dh-ur705-3d-dynamo-is-up-to-44-more-efficient-than-their-c/892339554464085/

Also, the Shimano one comes in shiny as well as in black.

Yeah it´s solid in both senses of the world. I think it´s about 8 kg.

It´s the only proper way of attaching a kid´s bike to the towing machine that´s worth considering. Very well designed and built. It essentially turns two bikes into an articulated tandem.

The kid´s bike is very easy to attach and release and the same goes to removing the whole thing from the towing bike. What we used to do when the kids were smaller was ride to daycare and then I´d leave the Follow-me Tandem with the kid´s bike attached there.

I got ours from a flea market in Brussels for the princely sum of 1.5 euros. Was practically new.

If you have small kids get one at once.

You see these about in Italy sometimes. I´ve been looking for one for quite a while now as the thought of a tandem that one could take into public transport appeals.

I´d obviously do wheelies too. Perhaps fit a headset and brake levers in the back as well and tie the ends of the two handlebars together with a length of string and off you go.

The Shimano RP9/SH-RP901 shoes mentioned upthread can be had for 100 euros a pair including a pair of posh socks or whatever with discount code FSH-WOW25 on Futurumshop. Only in white though and no size 43.

You´d have to email them for postage rates to the UK, it´s free to BeNeLux or you can collect in Apeldoorn or Utrecht. I think I had them post something to Finland once and the cost wasn´t too high if memory serves.

You can´t squeeze in some Conti GP Classics (25 mm nominal) then? They seem to get positive reviews in the usual German cycling supermarkets where the going rate is just over 20 euros a pop.

Have a look at the previous page in case you´re after something a bit faster than Kojaks but in similar width. Samuli is a Finnish ultra endurance cyclist who rode this year´s Transcontinental Race on those confusingly named Continentals.
