Scary ride today. A near miss (police rolled up immediately after but too late to catch the shite driver who nearly fucked me at a T junction), a mad close fast pass on a lane narrowed for roadworks then a near dooring within fifteen bloody minutes. Aargh!

100% endorse and ditto. Used mine earlier today and they are the business. Check your local Evans they might have a Warehouse Clearance on, lots of tool deals going at mine.

I noticed my braking distances had gone right up recently but good to know it’s the roads at fault and not the shit Schwalbe Black Jack wheelchair tyre I stuck on the back. Hashtag costofcyclingcrisis

10-4 on the five-tens. I was agin ‘em because fuck Adidas until I read the reviews when I needed new for MTB. Got a pair, no regrets.

If you can go to 2.25 Schwalbe’s Smart Sam is good on road with near contiguous central ridge and not bad off road at all. I’d forego the 2.15 though, tread elements seem disproportionately smaller, quite odd and less fun off the tarmac.

Another fan of the Rivers of London books.

One weird thing though. Great chunks of them are set around where I've lived or worked.

Not so surprising for anyone who's lived around London for a few decades maybe but significant parts of False Value are set in Gillingham in Kent where I grew up. Not just Gillingham though, but Twydall fucking shops less than 100 yards from my Mum's house.

Maybe he just likes using shitholes for locations so it's a miserable coincidence.

According to some old film I saw about mentals wrestling wildlife in Africa they did that to stop acacia thorn punctures while terrorising beasts on Safari.

I feel your pain. Tramped all over looking for suitable fabric nothing doing. Solution was to hit charity shops and repurpose an old piece of technical outerwear. Got a seamstress to do big patches then handstitched recovered pockets from donor garment on after.

Scary one today. A van driver stepped into road from behind his vehicle without looking. Managed to mostly miss him but couldn't not catch his arm with handlebar, so ended up a couple of feet further out where almost immediately the wing mirror of passing car whacked into other bar end.

Held on & stayed upright so mostly no harm done but wrists and fingers a little bit sore in places.

I take out insoles and laces then suspend me 510s sole-side up over the dehumidifier and leave to dry overnight on economy 7 vs. two-three days and re-stuffings required for newspaper method.
